She has been living with this guy for 4 years. He has a daughter from a previous relationship. He has a criminal history and has served time in the Department of Corrections. Now his brother is living with them. The brother also has an extensive criminal history and is currently on house arrest. I have talked to my friends mother and cousin, both of whom are afraid to say anything but feel the same way. Her mother is afraid she will lose her daughter if she speaks up. I am supposed to be the matron of honor, but I can't stand up with her and bless their marriage if I think it is a bad idea. My friend and I met in college, and are sorority sisters. I want to tell her I think she is making a big mistake but I am afraid she will get angry and marry him anyway. Any advice?

I am a college student and I am in a friend's wedding. I do not have a lot of money to pay for a gift so I thought about giving my friend a spa day. I was going to paint her nails, give her a massage, pedicure, manicure the whole works the day of her wedding. I also thought about giving her a foot massage later in the evening. Is this a fair gift? Do you think she will appreciate it? Would you like it if you were in her situation?

My husband has been a part time wedding photographer working mostly off word of mouth. He is ready to grow the business and would like to gain more clients. How should he go about advertising his business now? This is the wedding season and hopefully there is someone out there who does not have a photographer yet. It is too late to advertise in the phone book or other adds. What should we do?

My husband has the education and the experience. Now, we want to move to a full time business with this.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Ok so heres the deal. We wanted a small wedding so we chose a chapel that only holds 30 people max. To be fair, we are only inviting 15 people each. This is fine with me except I will have toleave some people in my family out. How can I be polite about this? I really dont want to hurt anyone's feelings. How can I invite my aunt and uncle, for instance, and not invite my 7 cousins (their grown kids)?

I am planning to get married via civil ceremony in Memphis, TN. We can't afford a wedding. I found out where to go to get the license. However, I can't find a justice of the peace. Is the justice of the peace the same as the county clerk? I'm looking for the person who will actually perform the ceremony. Is it a judge? I need to contact this person to set up the date and specifics in order to complete our marriage before the license expires. Please help me, and thank you in advance.

I was working with my bf business(not enough to make a living).Got an offer to work somewhere else for stable salary. This would leave bf in a situation b/c he made plans with me in them. I'm in school, condo owner, living off little savings and plan to get an equity loan till I finish school. Will be done in Oct.We are planning to marry and have a baby reeeaallyy soon. Both of us have no money, just a dream. At first I thought I should take the position to play it safe for us but now I'm contemplating not taking the job at all and see how his business goes. Would I be betraying him if I took the job? Would it be unwise to pass up an oppurtunity when I have so many commitments, and we have so many near future plans? He's giving me the indication that he thinks less of me now.Part of the reason I am not working is based on advice he gave me which lead me to leave the job w/ no work back up. I feel torn

My b/f wants to propose to me up a mountain in South Africa but I want him to propose to me up a mountain in the Alps Maritime. He says he will accompany me there but won't propose. My ancestor was speared by a Zulu at Rourke's Drift and my aunt ran a successful bagette outlet in Nice but he can't see the omens.

I am trying to figure out approximately how much it will cost for us to decorate the church for our wedding day. That is pretty much the only expense we will have for the actual wedding ceremony. Well, besides our personal attire and the rings of course! Can you give me an idea of what you spent on decorating your wedding if you got married at a fairly large church? We will handle the decor ourselves to save money (with the help of our bridal party decorating).

My fiance asked me the other day if my father is going to help pay for the wedding reception. My father has not offered, so I don't feel right asking him to help out. Initially, I assumed we would be paying for everything ourselves. But, if my fiance's parents end up contributing to our wedding expenses I know it will seem a bit unbalanced. I kinda feel like this is something a parent should do because they want to and can afford to... not out of pressure. But at the same time, I am wondering if I am not doing the right thing by approaching the subject. Any advice?

When selecting your maid of honor and bridesmaids should you send an email to officially announce who they will be, or should you ask everyone individually via telephone first? And once you decide who they will be, are you supposed to let anyone else know before the wedding??? I have a lot of friends, but I know the 5 people I want to have in my bridal party. I need them to help me do some things, but haven't officially asked them yet to be my bridesmaids. Any advice on how to handle this properly? Also, one of my three younger sisters keeps calling me asking can she be my maid of honor... I don't want a huge bridal party but I don't want them to feel left out. Is there another role my sisters (13 and 14 years old) can play thats important in the wedding?

we are currently 18 & 19. We plan on having a year engagement and continue going to a University. My plan is to get my masters in Business Econ and my boyfriend plans to go for his PHD in Psych. My boyfriend has a great job that will lead to a great career and we can afford to live on our own. I just want to know what people think about the situation, If we are viewed as too young, or fine to continue with our plans of getting married.

How much time should I figure for a wedding luncheon reception with around 30 guests and no dancing? I'm not sure what else to do during it besides chat with people, have the toasts, the meal and the cake.

The reason I'm asking is because we'll need be out of the room its in by 3 pm, and we were planning on starting it around 12:30, and I haven't had much experience in this category to know what time length to expect.

Thanks!

I have lost touch with all of my high school friends years ago. Recently, we moved back to our hometown and have now lost all the friends I made in the new city. My boyfriend bought me a ring and we are getting engaged. I have since been obsessed with planning our wedding which isn't going to be for about 2 years. BUT I have no one to stand up in my wedding except my sister and I don't know what to do!! My boyfriend has his wedding party planned. I am scared that I will look like a fool...and it makes me want to just go to the courthouse and miss what is supposed to be the best day of my life... I don't really know what my question is but hopefully someone has had a similar experience. Thanks.

My sister in law is getting married in June, they just got engaged in November. They live about 150 miles away from her home town (where they will be getting married). Her Bridesmaid is having a bridal shower AND a bachelorettes party and her future sister in law is having a shower where they live for family that can't make it to the wedding. My mother in law has now insisted that I also have a shower for her. This seems a bit greedy to me, any thoughts on what I should tell them? It is already February and her other showers/parties are in April and May (2), which of course I have not been invited to. I feel that 3 shower/parties are already enough, please help!

My sisters getting married in May, and she doesnt want a bachelorette party, but she wants a wedding shower. She doesnt want any cheesy games, and as I have never been to a shower I dont know what to do. Her fiance is going to be there, as well as other guys, so she doesnt want any thing too girly.
