How much time should I figure for a wedding luncheon reception with around 30 guests and no dancing? I'm not sure what else to do during it besides chat with people, have the toasts, the meal and the cake.

The reason I'm asking is because we'll need be out of the room its in by 3 pm, and we were planning on starting it around 12:30, and I haven't had much experience in this category to know what time length to expect.

Thanks!

Well,

without any dancing you have to make sure you have the toast, cut the cake, throw the bouqet and garter and have the garter place on the women who caught it your luncheon reception should be complete within two hours max. if you think its lingering you can always have an ending toast thanjing everyone and you and your husband making your exit.

My friend just had her's. It was a lunch reception. Started at 11:30 went till 3pm. i think that is pleanty of tiem to do the appropriate toasts, eat and cut a cake if you are having it. Just make sure you dont feel rushed. This is the only day you have.

Starting at 12:30 sounds fine to me, because you are not having a large amount of guests and it gives you 2 1/2 hours to talk and have a good time. Sounds perfect! :)

Mine is going to start at 11:30am and I want everyone to start leaving around 4. So I am sure you have enough time.
