i'm looking for ideas on where to have my wedding. non-tradional ideas that aren't a church or a hotel ballroom would be a plus. 70 people, not super formal, but classy. decent budget. somewhere between boston and new york, but general ideas of types of places would be appreciated. no tents please! i don't want to have to worry about rain! thanks so much! any and all ideas are appreciated.

there might be some historic sites that would allow you to host a wedding. Museums, aquariums, historic buildings...

what about an art gallery, museum, or a botanical garden?? I'm in Wisconsin...and we have the "Domes" which are like three large enclosed "greenhouses"...they are very pretty, w/ the flowers/plants and running water (streams/bridges/waterfalls).... it is inside, and you don't have to worry about supplying the flowers to decorate! I have seen people do their wedding/reception here before, and it is awesome!! Not sure if there is anything like that around your area, but it's just an idea! Good luck!!

Beach house on Chattam, Mass. (Cape Cod)Get married on the beach, party on a big beach house or several of them.

Fab B&B in New Hampshire overlooking the mountains. Fall and winter are the best.

Many state parks have cabin-type halls they will rent for a great price. You get a beautiful setting in a safe place at a good rate. What more could you want!

You could have your wedding in a park with a bulding or a picnic area where you could be enclosed in case of rain! :)
