I know the cost for a civil ceremony is £43.50 here in Nottingham at the registry office, £243.50 at another venue, but is this the same for church weddings?

My sister is getting married in June and has asked me to sing. She wants me to sing a song more dedicated to her from her little sister. And she said I don't have to tell her if I don't want to- so I am panicking! I am having a huge problem finding a song that puts into words how grateful I am for her and happy. I was thinking "Wind Beneath my wings" but I don't want to be pratical. If anyone has any opinions, that would be amazing. If you know of any christian -sister, best friend songs or not. WHATEVER! I just need some advice! I have looked everywhere!
Thanks!!

I have the two wedding rings and the engagment ring which was valued at £1400. Understandably the Jewlers doesnt want them back, (who would want to buy jinxed rings).
The stag do is paid for (but luckily overlaps with my birthday weekend and will still be used)
The honeymoon is all booked and paid for, and she has the wedding dress.
What a mess! Any tips for salvaging cash to help me buy her out the house and to help her move on with her life would be appriciated.

My husband and I have been through hell and back in our 13 years. Almost 9 of those being married. We've come through a lot with the latest, an almost divorce. I mean, we seperated, I moved out, papers were filed, attorneys hired. We were out a lot of money. But through the grace of God and our love for each other, etc, etc, we are back together. We feel that the one true way to put the past behind us and start fresh, we want to renew our vows and re-commit to each other officially and publicly. We don't want anything extravagant like our wedding, but something nice and memorable. We have a beautiful church, the same one we married in, and the pastor has already said he'll do it. My question is what should we do differently than our original ceremony or should we mimic it, just downplay it a little?

I am getting married at the end of August and i am a glasses wearer. Now i have purchased my dress etc i am in a real quandry about whether to wear my glasses. I could start wearing my contacts now so people get used to seeing my in them before the day (otherwise all they'd think is "where are her glasses?"), but i do feel i look better in glasses generally. However, i think i may regret choosing to wear glasses in future years. Have any other ladies been in this position, what decision did you make and were you happy with it???

A good friend of mine is having her stagette in a couple months.
There will only be 3 of us. All I have planned is a penis cake and drinking games.
With only 3 people what can make this "get together" fun and memerable?

Hi everyone
My fiancé and I have been engaged for a few years now and we’ve finally decided to bite the bullet and get married this year, we’ve decided to get married abroad (Caribbean most likely) as its cheaper and the weathers better, however I’ve been researching on the net and the legalities seem quite difficult, does anyone have any info or tips on which country’s best and simplest? I don’t fancy blood tests and translating/obtaining loads of docs etc…
Cheers
Shell

my fiancee is catholic. and i am was born and raised in the south. so we are most like babtist. but my church has no denomination. Basically. if we marry Catholic. i join the church. and so do our children whenever we have them. That will be against my family's wishes. But whenever i marry my man, i am marrying everything he is. and him being a Catholic, i'd be marrying that too. What do i do. I've prayed about this. i don't like organised religion. See what it does. It seperates people. We are all Christians. Why do we have to put other titles to that. I really need help here. I'm not very formiliar with the Catholic Religion. He is Colombian. And i am white. My family thinks that our cultural differences will cause troubles and thats why they don't think we will work. I believe that anything will work with effort. i love this man with everything i am. and i odn't want to go wrong anywhere. Whenever we say I do, it will be forever, no matter what. so please help. thank you!

I never expected to have a large wedding, and I was NOT one of those girls who have been planning their weddings since the age of 4. In fact, I pretty much detest weddings in general. I think they're cheesy. I am also not a big family person.

However, I do love my fiance, which is what it is all about. I wanted to get married privately on a beach in Mexico, but he wants a large formal wedding. I am doing this for him.

I just wanted to see if any other WOMEN feel like me. I feel like it's only men who feel this way, and most women I talk to look at me like I'm crazy because I hate weddings. I think they're strange for being so excited about such an event.

This year the traditional gifts are linen or silk. I can't seem to think of anything to get my husband for our anniversary that is made out of linen or silk. I don't really want to get him the usual stuff, robe, tie, underwear.....boring....boring....boring. Can anyone think of anything I could get him? Something different..... Also, it must be just one item and it must cost between $40-$60. Thanks
