My sister is getting married in June and has asked me to sing. She wants me to sing a song more dedicated to her from her little sister. And she said I don't have to tell her if I don't want to- so I am panicking! I am having a huge problem finding a song that puts into words how grateful I am for her and happy. I was thinking "Wind Beneath my wings" but I don't want to be pratical. If anyone has any opinions, that would be amazing. If you know of any christian -sister, best friend songs or not. WHATEVER! I just need some advice! I have looked everywhere!
Thanks!!

Wonderful Tonight by Clapton could be a good song and at the end of the song it says:

I feel wonderful
cause I see the love light in your eyes
and the wonder of it all
is that you don't realize
how much I love you!

Please Please Please don't do Wind Beneath My Wings.

You will not be heard over the groans of the guests.

It is a shame - it is a beautiful song with the perfect lyrics, but it sooo overdone that it has lost any meaning.

And Wonderful Tonight is a lovely song - but it starts describing a man watching his wife getting ready to go out for the night. Not exactly appropriate for a sister!!!

I think the Beatles song mentioned above is lovely -but you might be able to do better. I would almost say that anysong that comes to anyone's mind immediately would be too "over done" and guests hate that.

especially the link to "Bridal Party" songs as those songs seem to reflect love that is not "romantic" love. You could also try the songs appropriate for the father/bride or mother/groom dances as those wouldn't be about "romantic" love either.

Try this song: Friends by Michael Smith.

Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
Can't believe the hopes He's granted
Means a chapter in your life is through
But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

Chorus:
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say "never"
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends.

With the faith and love God's given
Springing from the hope we know
We will pray the joy you'll live in
Is the strength that now you show

But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

Chorus

I was just thinking that...."Winds Beneath My Wings" or maybe "You Are My Hero". Those are the two that seems to be popular for sisters or friends. Being a wedding photographer, I have heard many songs sung. But it all boils down to what she meant to you while growing up. Choose something that can tell somewhat of a story about you two or how you felt being with her as you grew up. You can always insert a message in there as to why you chose that song. As long as it comes from your heart, that's what matters most.

Good luck in choosing the song.

=)

How about "In My Life" it was written and preformed by the Beatles, but the Judy Collins version is amazingly beautiful.
There are places I remember all my life,
Though some have changed,
Some forever, not for better,
Some have gone and some remain.

All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall.
Some are dead and some are living.
In my life I've loved them all.

But of all these friends and lovers,
There is no one compares with you,
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new.

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
In my life I'll love you more.

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
In my life I'll love you more.
In my life I'll love you more.
