I love the dark & light blue with snowflakes - use the crystal colors for an even more wintery look. My advice would be to not go overboard with the theme - put it in a few key places so guests will get the idea but not be overwhelmed with it.
Also, check with the location of your wedding - see when they decorate for Christmas and what colors they generally use. You could save yourself a lot of money by incorporating their color scheme into your wedding and not have to spend as much on decorations.
I put a few links you might find interesting. I love snowflakes, too and I hope your wedding is just absolutely beautiful!
Congrats & good luck

One of the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to was a Dec. wedding. It was held late in the evening after dark. Both the church and the reception hall were decorated in white roses with burgandy ribbon. The bride wore a fake fur cloak over a beautiful white gown and the entire place was lit by candlelight. It was absolutely beautiful! They lit the walkway to and from the church and into the reception hall with candles. There were many more candles than flowers. The couple drove to the reception in a horse and carriage once again completely lit up and decorated with white roses and burgandy ribbons. It was a nighttime Dec. wedding that will not be forgotten. Congrats!

Snowflakes are a great idea! Having some of them tied up above you and your man and wedding party as you are getting married, and even at your reception table would be good. And around the rooms. I don't know of your budget, but if you could do it, and wanted to, you could see about getting some bulk cotton to put around pointsettias, etc. to look like snowbanks. Little ones. Like by the walls of the room you get married in. You can definitely feel free to use any/all of the colors used in Dec. for Christmas, etc. Enjoy! Congrats, and take care.

This depends on which aspect of december you would like to celebrate in your wedding.
You could go Christmas themed, with red, green, and gold. You could include Christmas trees, holly, and many typical Chistmas decorations.
Or, you could also do the Winter Wonderland theme. White everywhere, glitters, snowflakes, sleek and cool tones. That would coordinate beautifully with a white gown and a white tux.
But, no matter what, it would be adorable to get married under a sprig of mistletoe, since you 'have' to kiss someone under the mistletoe. It would be adorable.
Best luck with your marriage.

My wedding is also in December. The good thing about December weddings - if you are getting married in a church the church is already decorated for christmas. You really don't have to do anything.

You could do a sort of "winter wonderland" theme, like light blue and silver? Glittery stuff? Hang snowflakes and what-not? I think themed weddings are so fun. You could have snow globes for center pieces or something like that... go all out!

Christmas trees, holly (with berries), and tinsel everywhere! Most hotels are already decorated for the Holidays, so this will save you time and money if your reception is at a hotel. You could also have snow globes as unique centrepieces.
Depending on your wedding style (how formal is it?) you could also serve home baked Christmas cookies to your guests, or use them as place settings by writing your guest's names in icing.

I would go with alot of white and silver and as many candles as you can get. Rather than going with the literal snowflake theme, go with the glitter and sparkle of snow. The candle light will only enhance the romance of the look.

Snow flakes would be wonderful. Even on your gown or in your flowers! I got married once in December i am sad that it did not last but 6 months. But it was a wonderful day that started out like spring time and ended with snow! If i had it to do over i would have tryed harder to make it work.
