I'm getting married next month and want a unique way for guests to write their well wishes. I thought about the signature mat frame, but that seems somewhat over done now. I think the traditional book is boring since I doubt we'll ever open it up and read it at anytime in the future. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated - thanks! :D

Becaue it is quite ridiculous to pay thousands of dollars for some caterer especially because pot-lucks are soo much yummier! What about have a male bridesmade? A red dress? No flowers? Why are weddings always so expensive and frivilous??

Im going to be a bridesmaid in my friends’ wedding. I have known her my entire life (24 years) and we are going to try on and buy the dresses this weekend. I called her a little bit ago and asked her ‘who is paying for the dresses?’ she said that I will have to pay for my own. Then I asked ‘how much am I looking at?’ She said possibly $200.00!!!

I just moved out and I have to pay rent and all my bills. I can afford to pay $200.00 for a dress that I only going to wear for a few hours!! And I know that she will have us pay for the shoes and hair…
Im getting married in May of 2008 and I plan of paying for everything. I think that is the proper way. It’s HER wedding, if she picks out a dress that cost that much, I think that she should either pay for the whole thing or a least half it with us. (It’s only me and her sister in the wedding).

Here is my question:
How can I tell her that I can’t afford to pay for this? I have my own stuff that I need to save for and pay for…
thanks!!!

5 years ago my mother was working in a bakery, one day she was puting the mince filling into the pies, it wasn't until after her shift she had noticed that her wedding ring was missing off of her finger, she was so upset and looked everywhere.

Anyway my Dad who worked in the boatyard at the time purchased a mince pie from a local vendor and when he bit into it guess what he found..go on guess..It's absolutely true I swear..

I'm having an outdoor ceremony this summer. I wanted to have an aisle runner, but the ceremony will take place on grass..Does that seem ok for an aisle runner? I originally wanted a red carpet at first but they seem to be sooo expensive in VA. Im afraid that my heels will poke right through the aisle runner. Any ideas or know of a specifc kind of aisle runner thats heel proof.

At what point do couples need to do a registry? Also, do you need to do two seperate ones for the Bridal Shower and Wedding? Where would be some good suggestions to have one (Michigan)?

I have married into what I suppose you would call a "non-practicing Catholic family". I am a Baptist. My step-children and niece have God parents. I thought I'd heard somewhere that God parents were responsible for the children's religious upbringing. My husband said he'd never heard of that, that the God parents were to take the children in the event of the parent's death-that was the purpose. Also, the kids call the God father a French sounding name, that begins with a P, but they call the God mother "Nanny", which to me, sounds like a goat, or a redneck grandmother. So,my question is,what are the duties of God parents, and what are the names to call them?

Okay...So I met this guy on new years eve and he just came to virginia ....so like we met and he liked me a lot and ever since then we've been talking on the phone...I have just recently broken up with my ex boyfriend...I didn't not have such a good relationship since he wanted to have a change of heart (a join his christian-hood again) (which i completly understand and I let him go) so like...that same day I called the guy I met on new years eve...we were talking and he asked me to marry him! I said yes and we started making all these plans...The next day he calls me and he asks me to come to Live with him (PuertoRico) I am just so confused because I like himand i've learned that its better to learn to love than to love and get hurt! He wants to kids when he turns 20!And i have plans on going to the army and completing my career! he is coming back in 5 months and I guess we might get married...im only 17 but getting married is a huge thing because we are catholics...what should i do?

My fiance and I have talked about this a few times even before we we're engaged. He's in the military and there would be a lot of benefites to us being married now rather then waiting until our wedding date(Dec. 31, 2007). So any military couples can you give me some advice or your opinion on the matter? Also...do you think it's necessary to tell you family if you got legally married before the wedding?
