we are planning a surprise for our folks 50th. I'm on line trying to find a nice scrapbook album (no luck yet) I came across some really good ideas during my search. One lady said they wrote the white house and her parents recieved a congradulations from the president. I would have never thought to write the white house. Does anyone know how i go about this? address, what to say, etc.?

This is true...write a letter to the Pres and he will write back a congrats to your folks. It is a great thing to put in an album. Just write that it is their 50th anniversary and that it is going to be a surprise. You're definitely going to get an answer. The same goes for if you send the Pres a wedding invite, you'll also get a congrats letter.

What a thoughtful thing for you all to do. They will be very happy with a surprise party! As for the letter from the Pres... go here... http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/index.html explain that it is your parents 50th wedding anniversary, and make sure to include their names. You must do this at least 6 weeks prior in order for the letter to get there in time. I did this for a birthday celebration for a 90 year old. Unfortunately, I tried to do it for my mom's 80th but she never got the letter. Sometimes things fall through the cracks. Good luck!

Contact the Senate, they will get an autographed letter from the President Congratulating Them and it does not matter how you write them just put your information in there and ask if they could mail it to you to present to them at there party, it would be also nice if you had it already framed and sitting on a table with other momentos, photos ect...!
