Weddings - January 2007

I am from Spain and getting married to a New Zealand guy. We don't have the figure of the best man in my country, so I'm not sure what it he supposed to do... I know he gives a speech at some point... but does he also walk down the aisle with the groom, carry the rings or buys the bride's flowers? I've heard so many different things from different people I'm a bit confused. Any help? Thanks.

my father doesnt live in this country so i was going to ask my father in law to give me away but my mother thinks it should be her. she also doesnt want to go with my future mother in law to pick my dress and their outfits i thought this was traditional i dont know what to do as i dont want to sneep my mum but its my wedding isnt it

My beloved husband has once divorced before he got to know his true life partner who is me. When he got married to me, he decided not to hold an expensive ceremony and dinner. Though I love him so much, it does not matter whether we had wedding ceremony or not. But will you regret that you did not have proper wedding ceremony later on?

I am in love with two people at present, One is an ex boyfreind - who abandoned me, after i told him that i was abused as a child, He didnt keep in touch at all, infact 5 bithdays he never even wished me, I was however in touch with his best friend, who is now a good friend of mine, I was mainly in touch with his best friend cause it was my link to my ex...

aNYHOW i am suppose to get engaged in 2 weeks from now (formally) - Informlly - Ive put the ring on hold, tough the guy has asked me twice... and i said yes, but no rings till the formal one..

my present guy - He' s a very nice guy - Um, i actually fell in love with him months after knowing him, he tends to put my needs first, and he's everything i would want a man to be, He's never ever let me down - and once he even held my hand the whole night after i told him i was scared about what was going to happen, he sat and held my hand tellin me to relax

My question - who do i choose, and how? do i tell my fiance abt my ex?

Now my mom doesn't want to ever talk to my mom-in-law to be.. its very difficult.. I have been asked to stand up next to my son as his "Bestwoman". His Dad passed away and he and I are best buds. I don't drink, won't consider a stripper but do not have a clue what to plan that will be not only enjoyable but memorable as well. Bridal shower I have no trouble with, but a bachelor party? I am in school and work full time and live on my own. I want atleast a year before we get married to take care of my bills, figure out vacations for work ( not eligible to receive vacation until 7 months from now), and have time to save money to get all the things we want for the wedding; however she wants it earlier (in 5 to 7 months) becuase she says she is tired of waiting and wants to be with me already. I just feel that if we wait we will be better prepaid financially and have alot more time to take care of little things and not rush in getting everything ready for the big day.

would you have your wedding if you knew this was going to happen.

If you grew up in a state where everybody know each other. If you invite some people and Don't invite the other people. Those other people is going to be mad and tell gossip that is bad about you, it can be true or false gossip. If you invite them all, some are still going to tell gossip about you.

If you didn't want your soon to be husband to know bad gossip about you, would you still have your wedding? or not have a wedding because you don't want him to know your worst past stories from other people?

My FMIL has been a constant nag about our wedding whether it be giving us "To Do" lists everytime we see her or telling us what we need to put on our registry. I hope this nagging doesn't continue into our married life, but I don't see that happening. What happens when we have kids!? How do I go about telling her to relax and let us handle our lives and that we aren't teenagers who need decisions made for them without being a jerk and offending my fiance'? This is really stressing me out and making me bitter towards the marriage when having to think that the rest of my life may be like this.
