Real all around is the nicest but at least, real for the bride and bridesmaids etc, with silk for the surrounding decorations if you would rather spend the $$$ on a fun honeymoon or down payment on the house or your start up utility bills or . . .

We are doing silk for several reasons:
#1: So much time, water, and energy are put into growing real flowers that it seems wasteful to me to use so many precious resources to have them die shortly after.
#2: Silk flowers will remain beautiful forever. I gave my mom silk flowers and everyone always comments on how beautiful they are. No one knows they are fake until they come over again and they are still alive! Leftover centerpieces can then be donated to shut-ins.
#3: Silk flowers won't die. No worries about them wilting during the wedding. Also *if* something unfortunate happens a florist will not refund your $ if the wedding doesn't happen or is post-poned.
#4: I won't have to worry about bugs being attracted to my bouquet! I hate bugs!!!

Silk! With silk you can be sure whatever flower you want will be available. They can be painted to match your colors. They last forever. If you want them to smell like real flowers there is a spray you can use. You also can be more flexible with your budget. You should take a look at some of the sites online for silk flowers and go to your local craft store. This way you can get a feel for them. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hi
It's real wedding flowers for me because of the incredible choice and the fragrance which can really add to the ambiance of the wedding.
Even though the quality of wedding flowers in silk has improved a lot you have to be careful which ones you use to avoid them looking really fake.

Real. I personally cannot stand silk flowers anyway, so I would never have them for my wedding. Also found real arrangments & centerpieces to be cheaper than alot of silk options out there. It's just a personal preference.

Silk. You can have your bouquets and such made ahead of time, and it's considerably less expensive. If you make sure you get good silk flowers, they look just as beautiful as the real ones. Michael's & Hobby Lobby both carry very real looking silk flowers.

I personally say silk flowers...they won't wilt so you can keep your bouquet and it will always be pretty...however...you can go with some really flowers for decorations if you would like...such as, we used an arch outside...had some potted mums sitting on both sides of the arch and also some potted daisies in the reception hall sitting in a wooden decorative wheelbarrow...all of those flowers are in my mom's garden now...you can always put potted flowers in a decorative pot or something...but for all the bouquets and boutineers I seriously recommend silk since they do last and still look beautiful...GOOD LUCK!!!

I always say go for real flowers, with one exception. If it's going to be extremely hot, and your ceremony and/or reception will be outdoors, very few flowers will hold up more than a few hours. Then they start to wilt and wither. A friend of mine used silk flowers (arranged by a florist) and no one knew the difference.

I had silk 14 years ago and my bouquet still looks great! I love real flowers, but I didn't have to worry about bees flying around me, I've known more than one person who's been stung on their wedding day Good Luck!

Real flowers tend to be heavier if you use them for bouqets, as far as decorating it depends on the expertise of the decorator, by using silk you will be able to keep them for a long time and they won't wilt, also be considerate of people with allergies.
