My beloved husband has once divorced before he got to know his true life partner who is me. When he got married to me, he decided not to hold an expensive ceremony and dinner. Though I love him so much, it does not matter whether we had wedding ceremony or not. But will you regret that you did not have proper wedding ceremony later on?

It depends on your personality type I think. I was thinking about a very small family thing or courthouse thing because I'm intoverted and prefer small groups. However, I thought I'd regret it if I didn't go all out, so I did. It cost too much and was really too overwhelming for a person like me. I think for me something much smaller would have been better. If you thrive on and are energized by large groups of friends, then I'd go all out. The other part of the equation is of course your partner. You two have to compromise if you want different things!

In your post you mentioned that your husband decided not to have an expensive ceremony and dinner, but since you loved him so much the type of ceremony did not matter. But the real question is, did you want a wedding ceremony? If you did, it is possible that you may feel some disappointment that you didn't have a more formal ceremony. It's only natural for a person to feel some disappointment if they didn't have the wedding they desired. But if having a formal ceremony wasn't important to you, than I don't think you'll regret it all since the most important thing is your marriage and not a wedding ceremony. But if you ever decide that you would have liked to have formal ceremony, sit down and talk with your husband about it. Maybe the two of you can plan a formal vow renewal.

I got married without celebrating either i had always thought that it wouldnt bother me until i saw that my sister was planning a wedding i felt sad. They say that most us girls dream about are wedding day since the age of 5 when we start dressing up so to go with out having that special moment i dont know .... My husband and I will be married five years next year by law so we decided we wanted to celebrate our 5 yrs and get married by church so we could finally celebrate. At first i didnt think much about it but now I cant tell you how exciting it is planning everything and oh especially when you put that gown on you feel like a true princess. Only you truly know if it'll bother you later. I defintely would reconsider especially if you never been married before. Good luck.

I had a very small wedding. I was young and let myself be pushed around by my husbands family and I truly didnt have the wedding that I wanted. I have always harbored regrets about our wedding day.
Even though we are approaching our 10th anniversary and are planning a huge party to be a redo of our reception, it just wont be exactly the same. Unfortunately we just wont be able to recreate that day in our lives. The day when everything was new and we really started our lives together.
It seems that you are already married though, so I dont know how you would avoid the regret now. But yes, I think you will regret it, in fact, you probably already do.

properly, this is particularly upto you techniques large of a deal you like your day to be. Are you going to positioned on a marriage costume & have photos to remember your day? If purely getting married is all you like then why have a ceremony? this is purely classic todo the ceremony. i could have been given married in somewhat chapel in Vegas. purely close acquaintances have been with us & we did no longer have a ceremony. purely some hawaiian Chaplin stated us a married couple. on the time we purely had to be married. yet interior the destiny like on our 5 365 days anniversary we are having a renewing of the vows & having ceremony. the classic wedding ceremony. this is ordinarily so our family contributors & acquaintances might properly be a area of our social gathering. purely because of the fact this is each and every woman's dream to have a large wedding ceremony does not advise every person has to maintain on with in those footsteps. In right this moment's society this is approximately indidvualality. you're purely going to be happy in the experience that your day is strictly the form you like it. Have a silent wedding ceremony. All that concerns is your marrying the only which you like and there is no regrets in that.

the act of getting married IS your ceremony regardless of how this was done.
I got married in a court house with just immediate family present & then had a picnic lunch in a botanical gardens - this was 30years ago & if I was ever to re-marry I would probably do something similar.
my 4 siblings all had bigger functions than I did - however I have NEVER had any regrets about what I had
something for you to think about - if your man made ALL the decisions & did not take your wishes into consideration - how thoughtful is he & does he tend to want everything his own way???

There is no such thing as a "proper" wedding ceremony, only what you want.

If you didn't get the ceremony and reception YOU wanted, yes, you will regret it, but you can renew your vows and have a big party on a later anniversary.

I would rather have a small wedding with just my close friends and family than have a big showy affair and have a million strangers there who I don't care about.

I will never regret my desicion to not have a wedding. Faster, cheaper, less stress. It's not how you marry, it's who you marry. Big flashy weddings are for show and really not necessary.
