We are wondering what type of ring we could get for our budget. We are more interested in good quality over size, but not necessarily looking for something tiny either. My BF keeps asking me this & I have no idea, so I'm hoping someone here can help. Going into a jewelery store is too high pressure-we're just looking for ideas at this point.

The church that I'm getting married @ offers ceremonies @ 12 and 2...... Which would be a better time... On one hand I don't want my gues to arrive @ 12 and not have eaten and then either starve till a 4 o'clock reception or eat right b4 the reception and not eat the food @ the reception.. (which isn't cheap!).. On the other hand... I'm not sure if a 2 o'clock ceremoy is an off time to do it.... One more question... who is supposed to carry the brides train in the wedding?... Thanks a ton!

(This is about my brother) Put it this way he bought her a brand new set of tires that he paid for and he also made a partical payment on a wedding dress that she stil has. A ring that he has to suck up the payments for in a span of 3 yrs. Now she keeps on harrassing him for her $800.00 snowboard. To top it off he paid for all the dates in the realtionship from day one and he feels that she should give him the money for the tires and a partical payment for the wedding dress. That way he'll give her the snow board back otherwise he should sell it and get his money back right?

Basically I have $467.23 dollars and I need to get married right away.

Is it cheaper to just marry a syrian woman from the middle east or just a typical American woman? I am so confused !!!

I'm suppose to be getting married next Sept, I want a small wedding, semi traditional. I want a small hall for the reception with a pot luck dinner but I want a nice ceremony elsewhere, my fiance doesn't. He doesn't see the point is spending money on renting another place than where the reception will be held, he also doesn't see the need to "dress up". Should be just elope and not worry about arguing over what to do for the wedding/reception...or is there a way to comromise?

Everyone gets pissed off when I don't want to attend weddings with them. I still give gifts and say my congrats to the bride & groom, but I just prefer not attending them. Call me bitter, but I just don't see the point since it's most likely that couple will get divorced in a few years. And plus, I don't want to particpate in something that society has completely constructed into something that is MANDATORY for every woman and every man to do in their lifetime.
what do you think?

Friends of the family are getting married after being together for many years. They are both older and have been married twice before. The wedding is at the courthouse, and the reception is at a community center. It is very low-key and inexpensive.

What would be a good gift to get? I'd rather not give cash or a check.

Our friend/landlord got married, combined households so they don't need anything in terms of that kind of gift. They each have a small child and are expecting in the spring. Have live-in childcare /housekeeping (grandma). Live in a smallish, modest home. We want to get them something unique and cool, but can't spend over $50 or so. Any suggestions? Thanks!! (We live in Canada)

I am getting married next summer, I wanted a friend of the family to marry us, but as far as I know he is not a licensed officiant. He pastors in MD and the ceremony will take place in VA. Does he have to be licensed to sign the marriage certificate? I hope some here can help. I have read articles online but none are very specific in that aspect. I wonder if anyone else has been in that situation or happen to know. Thanks

Say your fiancee got you a ring and paid for it with a loan. A few years later his parents pay off the loan.

ive been with my boyfriend for 3.5 years. im 21 he's 29 and all my friends think we should've got engaged on my 21st birthday, i actually had to warn him not to ask me. its not that i dont want to marry him as im sure one day we will, just not yet. im way too young to be gettin married and if i got engaged now we'd only end up being engaged for about 5 years which is pointless as when i do get engaged i want it to be for 2 years max. my boyfriend loves me and he would marry me tomorrow if agreed and i cant help feel like im letting him down by having to wait for me.

My main worry now is that ive always dreamt that when i do get proposed to it will be all romantic and spontaneous, now i cant help feeing like my lifes mapped out and il wake up one morning and it'l be like rite we'l get engaged. anyone else feel like this ?? or am i just being silly ??

I told him - he doesn't have to worry - I don't want to marry him. He then says "You don't know how to take constructive criticism. Some people take help negatively or positively its all how you accept it. Does anyone think this is constructive? I am 5'2 and I wieght 135 lbs - I don't think I need to lose weight- especially for this loser! Any suggestions? Why would someone want to marry someone they if they don't like they way they look anyway?
