I'm getting married in a courthouse next February. I will be wearing a nice light colored dress (full length) and my fiance will wear a suit and tie.

I got married at the courthouse and I just wore a nice pair of cream colored paints, a silk shirt with a shear shaw on top. It was nice because when my husband and I went out that night to celebrate I was able to wear the same thing. Congratulations!

Definitely not. It's all a matter of personal taste! That's one of the distinctions of having a civil wedding versus a church wedding - you are not restricted to any specific dress code.
Do whatever it is you need to do to make the event special ... if you feel that wearing something nice will, then by all means dress up! If, on the other hand, you feel that there are other things to pay attention to, then simply come as you please.
Best wishes on your wedding, wassup!

You should look really nice, but I wouldn't wear the wedding dress . When I got married the first time the brides w/ wedding gowns looked pretty silly. Remember the justice 'o' the peace is in the court house...there are court cases goen on too!

You really don't have to dress up wherever you get married.
But one reason for a courthouse wedding is you don't want all the bells & whistles.

Dressy casual would be fine or you may want to wear a suit with a nice blouse so that you could have a nice meal after. It would like better when you get a few pictures done as well.

it does not matter with the place but the ceremony. If u want to have a nice memory of that day and that event, then i would recommend u to wear nicer. But, the decision is up to u. As long as u happy, clothes is not the matter.

That's up to you. I would; but I dress up any chance I get. I think a really elegant suit would be nice or a beautiful knee length dress.

Most people do put on something a little special but not necessary. Mostly just for the photo's after the ceremony.
