Having "Let it Snow" sung by Harry Connick Junior at the ceremony & "Believe" sung by Josh Groban from the film Polar Express. With all this winter theme, I'm wondering if it will snow on the day - perhaps I should get a cloak! What do you think?

I am an asian womon in my 30's & my mom is still controlling me. In my culture we have arranged marriages. For the past 10 years my mom has tried to force me to marry men whom I hardly even knew. Some had really bad habbits & my mom said that they would change after I marry them. One guy freaked out because she even tried to fix my wedding date & where & when I should marry him even before met the guy. I was so disapointed with everything & gave up on finding a man. But out of the blue I met a wonderful man on my own & fell in love. Now we are engaged to be married & mom still is trying to interfear in our wedding plans. She even told me who should be my briedsmaid, what color of flower I should have in my cake, who should be my witness, how many should attend my wedding. My fiance & I are paying for our own wedding & planning it too. She got pretty upset with me last week about my wedding. Now we are ok. She wants a ring bearer when we said the best man will hand out the ring.

I am getting married next year. My maid of honer is my sister. I didn't want her to be my maid of honor but she threw a hissy fit because I didn't pick her originally. I picked my best friend first but my sis got upset so I picked her.I luv my sisters kids to death. So I picked the older two to be the flower girls & they are counting the days to my wedding. Last week I found out from my sis that she does not like my fiance one bit. When I my fiance & I were having issues in the past I confided in her. My fiance confided in his family too. His best friend who is his best man was against our relationship so was my sister. Now my sis & his best friend are the best man & the maid of honor. I don't want my sis to be a witness at my wedding so I chose my fiances uncle & my fiance wants his father to be the other witness. But my mom says usually the parents or the siblings don't be a witness. Is that true? Because I don't want my sis or his best friend to be a witness. I am catholic.

I am in need to interview people who are engaged or recently married (within the past year) for a survey on buying behaviors for engagement rings. I am having a hard time finding people to interview and really need some assistance for my project. I am a MBA student at USF and this project is for a marketing research class. I promise that all of your information is just for my project and will not be shared anywhere or with anyone (except for my professor, but even then your name won't be there) It is a phone survey and only takes 10 minutes to complete. PLEASE HELP!

My daughter's maid of honor scheduled a bridal shower and sent invitations before she checked with me. I will be out of the country on the date of the shower. 1) Does the mother usually buy a gift for her daugher for the bridal shower? 2) If I cannot attend, should I send the gift or give it to her after the shower when I return?

My fiancé and I are planning on getting married in March 2007 (small wedding, only 20 or so close family and friends and then a much bigger reception a couple of weeks later).

The problem is that my mum and step-dad (the only father I know) split up 4 years ago and haven't spoken since. My mother literally walked out on my step-dad with no warning leaving my step-sister, who was then 18 and my step-brother, who was then about 15.

I don't have close contact with either of them- I see my mum a bit more, but not much. I still see my step-fathers parents and I am very close to my step brother and sister.

The problem is, they are still my parents and I want them at my wedding, but I am terrified they will argue. How will they cope when they have not communicated apart from through solicitor's for the past few years?

Their impending divorce has got very nasty with both sides lying to get the upper hand and us kids trying to stay out of it. Although our parents do their best to drag us into it, relaying messages through us to them etc etc

My mother has a new partner, who I do not like and I feel may inflame the situation. Shall I invite him or not? I do not want to upset my mother by not inviting, him, but then it is my day.

Part of the reason we are having such a small ceremony is that both my fiancé and I feel it would be much harder for them to create a scene with only 20 or so people present. But now I am not so sure.

We are pretty poor, so it won't be a big do, but we are just on the verge of sending out the invites and I don't know what to do.

Neither of them has even bothered to send me an engagement card and they are not good parents at all, yet I am loathed to not invite them as I don't want any possible children I might have to feel the reprucussions of this, in say 20 years time.

I am so worried they will ruin my day- HELP!

I would say that whatever colour you want for your wedding cake is fine and the seasons don't dictate which colour you have.

Most brides choose the colours from what colour the bridesmaids are wearing.

How did you decide on the colours for your wedding cake?
