I want to have my pictures done before the wedding and no one I know has done it this way. My FI and I are going to be 30 and live together so we are not worried about "seeing" the bride thing.... we much rather get our moneys worth eating shrimp puffs and sipping champange at the receiption :) Plus our guest will be able to go straight to the ballroom with no wait or inbetween time!
How did it go- like how much time did you need before the wedding and then after the wedding for pictures.
Any suggestion would help!!
Thanks!

ok heres the situation. i have been friends with a couple for about 8 yrs or so. though we are not close and do not talk much we have still kept in touch where necassary. when she was pregnant she invited me to her baby shower. i went and bought over$100 worth of items for their baby. i dont recall a thank you. then recently i was invited to her bridal shower which i attended and gave a gift. now her wedding is here. do i give another gift? i have three children and am also married and never recieved anything from them. i never had a wedding or showers so there was never an "oppurtunity' to give a gift. please help.

I was invited to a wedding in Poland as two friends of my girlfriend are getting married there (my girlfriend is Polish).
I already accepted but thinking about all these non english speaking people, and I don't know anybody makes me feel like I really don't want to go. Plus this is being there for 3 days !
How can I pull out ?

My best friend was the maid of honor at my wedding. She made me promise that in the morning I would wait for her before going to the salon on my wedding day. I said as long as she was there before 10am I would wait but that I couldn’t be late so I would leave if she wasn’t there before 10. The next day on my watch it was 10 and she wasn’t there so my sister in law took me instead. My best friend was furious when she got to the salon with her boyfriend and said I didn’t wait for her and that she was there at 10 sharp. I know she wasn’t but I didn’t want to argue about time it was the most important day of my life. She didn’t speak to me the rest of my wedding day, not even to tell me I looked beautiful. Thank goodness my Mom was there helping me get into my dress because my best friend didn’t arrive till just before the wedding because she was busy getting ready herself. She was the first one to leave my wedding, she said she was tired. I don’t understand how she could treat me that way on the most important day of my life? Was she jealous, or did she have a right to be upset at me?

When I found out that Oprah wasn't going to the wedding ... I cried. How DARE they not invite that woman. HOW DARE THEY. I am shocked they would do such a thing, and Oprah is hurt. Did you see how shocked and sad she looked on The Insider when they asked if she was going to the wedding?

I'm thinking of sending a gift basket to her fan club to be passed on to her. She will appreciate it.

2 weeks ago a cousins wedding was canceled when he discovered her still sleeping with a former. Now we have little respect for her. Yesterday, we received the original invitaion reprinted with, "We are really going to do it this time!" Now its the holidays and we are very busy. Should we cancel other plans to now attend this "no-respect" wedding day? Or do we continue on with our business?

Thank you for all the feedback about how much to spend on an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I agree with the "it doesn't matter as long as you are in love" advice. However, I want to buy her something nice out of love. So what size, clarity diamond is considered "impressive" - I know nothing? Most of the jewelery (bracelets, earrings) she wears is yellow gold-colored - does that mean I should go with the yellow gold rather than white or platinum look? I want this to be a total suprise so I am not discussing beforehand with her. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I have been together for a bit over 2 years. We used to live together but I've now moved away for University so we only see each other on weekends. We've been talking about marriage on and off for about a year now and about two months ago I suggested it (somewhat like a proposal, but more of a suggestion) and he said he'd like to wait a bit longer (around 3 years) so I dropped the subject. The thing is, since then he's been talking about the future a lot more, like where we're going to buy a house and where we're going to raise our kids, and last weekend he asked me to marry him, only when I asked if he was serious he said 'no'. So now I'm confused. Could he just be messing with me cos he knows it's what I want? Advice?

I want to buy my girlfriend an engagement ring that is nice and will make her friends ooh and aah but don't have unlimited funds. I know the 2 month salary rule..blah, blah, blah. I want to know the approximate dollar amount for an impressive-sized ring with good clarity that wont cost me arm and leg. Is one carat a large size? Under $10K or over $10K?

We are currently organizing our wedding party and would like to ask a couple to be in the wedding party however they do not at all get along with one of the ushers. What is the best way to approach the situation ? Should we ask them? This usher has already agreed and he is very close with the groom. Thanks!

Our son is getting married soon and I was wondering who is supposed to make the reservations for the wedding rehearsal dinner and who chooses where to have it? I know we, the groom's partents are to pay for this dinner. Is there any limit on how many people we pay for. I assume the in-laws are included.
If anyone has any good info on this subject I would appreciate your help.
I really don't even know what our responsibilties are in this wedding. Can anyone help? Do I do anything special for the bride? Like a party?

Do you think age gap really matters. We are so madly in love and and are now engaged and I don't feel the age difference as we are so good together. We play, joke, laugh together etc. He is so fit and Im worried about people judging us. Heeeeeeeelp!

If I am forced to pay (like everyone else) for airfare and a hotel stay, do I still give them the same gift they gave me for my wedding? Do I give them half the amount? What should they expect from us? We were going to give them $200, but airfare and a hotel stay will cost us like $2,000, plus time off from work. Should the gift amount be the same as they gave us or will they understand that if we gave them less, it would understood that we had to pay a lot to attend their wedding?

I am from Ohio and my fiance is from Wisconsin. I moved to NC a little over 2 yrs ago and met my fiance in the state after I moved here. We both moved here for our jobs. Neither of us has family here. I thought to be fair we should have the wedding in NC rather than in OH. I know typically the wedding is held where the bride is from, but I would hate to leave out his family and friends. Is this a good compromise?

We have been together for 11 mos and live together for 8 mos. I know I want to marry him but he wants to get married really soon and has not mentioned an engagement ring. I always thought the ring symbolizes commit and financial stability. He could afford one but it's so close to the Holidays and we would like to move the first of the year. He has always been very responsible with money and helped me tremendously. I don't see having the money for a honeymoon or ring. We had discussed going to Vegas to get married, because we don't want a fancy ceremony, but it's not feasible at the moment and he is talking about getting married on our one year anniversary which is New Years Eve. Am I wrong to feel that if I tell people we are getting married I'm sure they are thinking were is the ring?
