Me and boyfriend want to get married but loans seem so expensive and what with bills and mortgage I don't know how we'd manage. Average weddings they say are around 17,000 now!!! Was wondering if we could have a lovely day for 10,000, I think this would be our max on a loan that we could afford, and does anyone know if we can cut any corners by doing anything ourselves. We both want a lovely day (don't we all) but its so expensive. We really want to get married! Everyone else seems able to do it, why can't we. Thank you. :-)

I live in Perth, Australia and I am planning to have my wedding at Cable Beach in Broome. Its a 2-3 hour plan trip to Broome from Perth.
What I want to ask is, Should I pay for the plane tickets for my guests? or the accomodation? (one night) Which I know will be ridicuously expensive.
And if i expect them to pay for the flight and accomodation..Would it be rude to accept their wedding gift? Because they are already forkin' out so much to come to the wedding.

I am only plannin' a small wedding (30 or less guests).
Has anyone had a wedding interstate or overseas? Or even better, did anyone get married at Cable Beach? What did you do? Any advice will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance =]

This is the dilemma,my eldest daughter is getting married august,my youngest daughter has just had her first baby, our first grandchild 3wks ago.Now the problem is my eldest daughter is having her two sisters as bridesmaids and 4 others, her partners niece and 2of her godchildren but when she was asked could her own niece who will be 11months by then could be one the answer was an emphatic NO.It would disrupt the service,it would look stupid etc.All the youngest wanted thinking her sister would think it was a lovely idea was to follow the little bridesmaids in to the church holding the baby and once in there hand her to me.What else does the brides mother do on that day any way.My eldest daughter i agree should be the one to choose who she has as its her wedding, but its hurt my youngest girl as she feels like her babys being rejected,we by the way are paying for the reception but have made no other requests.I want them both to be happy.I cant take sides as i love them both. What do i do??

My fiancee wants to have a Bachelor Party at the strip club. I do not understand why men go have ti ts rubbed in their face, days before their wedding. I just think its wrong, he has a woman at home who he's about to marry! Bachelor party without strippers would be kewl with me but i dont want him around all kinds of naked girls. I've heard horror stories about bachelor parties. Not to mention I am pretty jeleous as it is becuase he has cheated in the past. What do I do!? I know if he had one I would be a wreck up til the wedding and I shouldnt have to be, those should be the happiest days of my life. Please help me...how can I get him to understand why i dont want him to go to a strip club? I feel so strongly about this......OH and why do men want to have a bachelor party at a strip club???

I found a dress at David's Bridal, I fell in love with it. Brand new at the store it costs $699 plus tax and everything else. I found the same dress on Ebay starting at $99, brand new, no alterations, and it comes with a petty coat. I know this sounds silly due to the price difference, but will I miss out on anything special if I don't buy it from the store?

My son is getting married in Las Vegas next month. It will be a very small wedding with immediate family only. He and my future daughter in law would like to invite others to watch their wedding on the internet.

My fiance and I are are planning our wedding for May of 2008. We have a simi-tight budget and we are considering having a cash bar at our reception to cut some of the cost. We are planning a nice meal and we do not want to pay for other people to get drunk at our recption. The place we are holding the reception recommends we use a cash bar as opposed to on open bar. We are getting mixed reactions to this when we talk with people, so I was curious to see what others thought.
