Wow, how I know that THAT sucks. The worst part is that no matter where you go, there will be someone who chooses not to take ownership of a mistake or bad choice. Speak up for yourself in a responsible, not whiny, way. Then follow up with integrity and honesty in all your dealings so that others will know what kind of a person you are.

Yeah, yeah, it is not as easy as it sounds. Took me a long time get a (good) reputation so that when rumors are spread and fingers are pointing, people either come straight to me for answers or they just ignore what is being said. Good luck!

Yup yup yup! Meee too. I think everyone has gone through this at some point in their working life. It is how you handle yourself when blamed.... it is okay to stand up for yourself... but don't whine, don't point the finger at someone else, and don't sulk. If you are truly not guilty of any part of the the trouble, then walk away and let your work prove your innocence. If you are a hard worker, honest, and have integrity - truth should win out... and if it doesn't? Is that really the sort of place you want to work anyway???

Oh "HI" - do I hear you or what?
Have been there many times. It can be a hard one to accept.
It could be just a case of swallowing your pride or
going right up to the boss and setting the matter straight.
And question yourself, "whoever has accused you of something you didn't do, why would they want to hurt you? Jealousy perhaps?
I had a supervisor who hated me with a passion and would blame ME if the boss had kittens!
It was so ridiculous. I approached my boss about it but he just excused that person.
In the end I left and my boss came crying back to me. He lost a good worker.
Best of Luck!

I do especially....In the next year I will be taking over the bosses wifes job and because she can't not be involved she likes to pick on things that I do differently to her. As long as the outcome is the same and it gets done quicker, who cares.....After a year, I decided to give her back what she gave me and that worked.

It should never happen, if you are blamed for something you did not do ...speak up and tell them it was not your doing, and give a reason why, for instance you were working on another project, or you knew who was working on the one with the problem.
Companies dont pay you to take the blame for what others do, and you dont owe an allegiance to someone who is not doing their job, covering for them is wrong and only enables them to continue messing up with no consequence, since you are taking the blame for their mess.

You know what I really hate, when people put their questions in the wrong category. This is for weddings, not complaining about work.
