Need some good ideas to cut the costs of the wedding. My bride decided she was going to do it all herself. But, I think it is eally stressing her out. I was going to try to help her. But 2 problems, 1. I have no clue where to start. 2. I have no clue how to make a wedding cheap yet still look nice. I would really rather just hire a planner and give her a break but she says they are too expensive when she can do it herself. Any ideas...... I need a coach! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

My boyfriend of 3 years proposed last week. YAY! We are seriously considering going to Las Vegas to tie the knot sometime in the spring. I guess my question is...can anyone tell me ANYTHING about their experience (or someone they know) getting married in Vegas?

I'm doing a bridal shower December 2nd for a good friend of mine who is getting married December 30th. It will be a girly pink, white and silver theme, mid-afternoon. Please give ideas for favors. I'd like some unique ideas, not opposed to Christmas-type favors as long as they will mesh with the theme. Help a gal out!

I found a dress I really want on ebay. It's from an ebay store. The seller has a 100% Positive rating. They're a store from china, and they custom make the dress to your size. Would you/ Have you bought your wedding dress off of Ebay? Does anyone have any advice about this? I know I won't be able to find a dress that beautiful in my size anywhere around where I live for that little amount of money.

My fiancee and I have every household item imaginable between us. We've just put a deposit on a place and would love to have help with the downpayment so we thought it would be more appropriate for us to ask for money instead of gifts since we don't need anything material. What is is the most tactful way to word it or spread the word?

This is my wedding gown. I chose the one in ivory (white in the picture). I will wear it without the sash. My wedding colors are tea rose, chambord, white, and peridot. Please check out the gown from this link:

My boyfriend and I have decided that we want to get married next year. Right now we are deciding were and when. He wants to get married in a church. ( I like the idea.) I kinda want to have the reception outside, but having it in with access to an indoor area is another idea.
Where are problem is, is deciding when to get married, I am thinking May or June. I don't want to get married in July, my birthday is that month.
He is not sure when. Any ideas would be helpful. Maybe a good reason would help to.
Thanks

Hey girls, or even guys!

Please share with me your proposal story. I just got engaged and feeling like sharing the love. Allow me the chance to relish in my moment;)

Sunday, October 8th, my guy proposed to me and I had NO idea! We never even looked at rings! He took me to Sabula Iowa, the place we went to the day he first told me he loved me. He planned a picnic by the water and burned a cd with all of our favorite love songs. After we ate our sandwiches, he pulled me closer, told me to close my eyes. He gave me this speech about how he wants me to know he loves me, will always love me, will always be there for me, and will never hurt me. Then he said, "I have a surprise. Open your eyes." And there sat this gorgeous princess cut engagement ring shining at me from a little black velvet box. I said yes, started to cry, and 10 minutes later, we started to call our friends to celebrate the news. Ain't that romantic?!! Please share yours =)

My wife to be and I were trying to decide on wedding colors. We are getting married this summer (July). She picked out some pale pink color that I said I wasn't a favorite of. She got mad and told me I was in charge of the colors. I have no clue what these things are supposed to be. Come on ladies (and guys) I need your help. Any ideas?

LOL. I know of a situation like this & I'm curious!

In two of the marriages, he was married to the same woman, so in essence, while he has been divorced three times, he only has two ex-wives.. but like it makes much of a difference?

This is my second post of this question, because I think it may have a better home here in the Weddings category than in the Etiquette category. Otherwise, I apologize for the duplication.

I'm getting married tommorow, and was planning to wear my grandmother's string of ivory pearls with my wedding dress. My mother-in-law gave me a beautiful sterling silver cross and said that she would be honored if I would wear it. My mother was a bit hurt when I told her of the gift, and said that she thought the pearls alone would be best. The pearls do go with my dress better. I am thinking of trying to wear them together, but they don't look all that great together. :( One option I was also considering was wearing the cross as an anklet, as it does look very nice alongside my shoes.

I'm not sure exactly how to handle this without hurting either one of them, and lately, my mother says she has felt sort of like my fiance's mother is trying to take care of everything that she had been wanting to help with.

Even if there is some online rental store, where I can rent them from, Its ok. I don't want something expensive. I don't even mind sewing them myself, if somebody can tell where I can get the fabric from (ofcourse not very expensive fabric). I need enough material to cover 25 tables (60" round), for a wedding reception
