First of all, you should go to a place that is beautiful and special to you and your fiance.

First of all congrats to you, and please know that getting a venue is the biggest thing that will take a lot of time. After you decide on one, you can coordinate everything else accordingly.

Do you need a church wedding or not? Personally, if you want a church wedding you are more limited as to the venue because it is probably needs to be near the church.

How many guests do you have in mind? If it is family only, consider destination weddings. There are so many beautiful places to visit, like the Caribbean, Hawaii, secluded beaches in Mexico, or even Grand Canyon.

What is important to you the day of the wedding? Think of a beautiful theme and pick your favorite theme. This way you can narrow your choices of venue accordingly. I am getting married in 2 weeks. I had a change of venue, I picked one, it was on the beach. However, 3 months later, I realized that I don't feel like walking on the sand wearing my wedding dress. Don't get me wrong, beach wedding is beautiful and romantic, but it is not for every bride. So I changed the venue to a Japanese Garden. It is entirely outdoor and I get to decorate it all I want. A lot of work, but I am very very happy with the garden theme.

In any case, pick 3 favorites venues, then talk to your fiance to see which one is his faves. The bride gets what she wants and the groom will be happy too! Enjoy!

Dont worry about the place worry about what your doing... write your own vows or something... seriously liza presley and micheal jacksons wedding was like in the millions... my grandparents are getting ready to celebrate their 55th wedding anny and they got married in a old church... its not the place.... but if it matters THAT much *like us women like to think* look for some place in nature that no one would think of.. by a waterfall or something very unique that you and your hubby can go back to for alone reminise time :)

Wedding magazines, sites, etc. There really is no perfect place...it's all been done by really wealthy people and celebrities. "Perfect" is actually a state of mind. If you find your backyard to be "perfect", then there you go.

I personally would get married somewhere that is special to the both of you. My sister and her fiance are getting married in Las Vegas because that is where they were when he told her he loved her for the first time.

Ask your fiance where he wants to get married and tell him where you want to get married. I'm pretty sure the two of you can come to an agreement.
