Please do not include registry cards. That is totally bad manners. There should not be any mention of gifts in your invitations whatsoever. If people want to know where you registered they will call you, your parents, or your maid of honor and ask them. You must wait to be asked or you will be remembered as a rude "gimmee" bride.

In terms of etiquette you don't mention your registry anywhere on the invitations. You tell your parents, siblings, wedding party, and friends and the word gets spread that way. Congrats!

Two choices: either use the cards that the stores provide (we did, they were all very tasteful), or hand-letter a card saying something to the effect of "Our gift preferences have been registered at [name of store(s) here]." Some people also note that in lieu of a gift, donations can be made to a charity in the couple's names, or payments can be made to the couple's student loans on their behalf, etc. Don't be ashamed to let people know that you've registered, and where; if you don't tell people with the invitations, they'll ask - they aren't obligated to go where you direct, but it saves them (and you) time if they do.
By the way, felicitations, and best wishes!
a. :)

Please please do not include your registry info on any invite! Its tacky. The reason stores give out those cards is bc they are concerned with making money, not being polite.
You can put registry info on a website and include the website with an invite. The proper etiquette is to have you friends and family (bridal party) spread the word.

I am including my theknot.com site on my "Save the Date" cards. That way, they can look at all the fun info on our wedding, and the registries are oh-so-handily right there! You may want to look into that if you're worried about seeming "greedy."

Target, and Pier One have cute cards that they give you when you register so you can include with your Shower Invites, or Wedding Invites.
