my finace and i booked a hall and now in dec we have a food tasting coming up and i would like my parents to go with us. problem is that no on knows we are getting married because i havnt gotten a ring yet due to him being in iraq. i will be getting a ring when we visit ny but that will be a few days after the food tasting. we are getting married in ny and will be doing wedding stuff while we are there for the holidays. my parents like him and we are definitly getting married. we live together as well. should i tell my parents that we are getting married and we booked the hall and would like for them to come with us or should we just go and keep it hush hush till i get the ring. i honestly dont think my parents would freak out or anything but just wanted some opinions! thanks!

My sister is getting married in 2 weeks, and I'm ashamed to say I still haven't bought a wedding gift. They are goin on there honeymoon to Ney York for a week - I have thought about the idea of booking something for them to do when they are over there, although they already have theatre tickets bought for them.

Any great ideas for a really great gift I could buy? It doesn't necessarily have to be something to do in NY - I'm open to all ideas at this point!

I am 20 (21 in January) and my boyfriend is 23 (24 in Feb), and we want to get married in 2 years time, when I'll be 22 and he'll be 25. Is this too young?

I don't think it is, as my mother had 2 children by the time she was 23 - I'm not saying I want kids, though!

What are people's opinions?

her fiance was only 16 when they met over the internet. now my friend asked me to be her maid of honour. i really do not believe in this marriage because growing up with her, ive seen the phases she goes through and she was always falling in puppy love. do i open my mouth and tell her my true feelings, this will change everything in our relationship cos im ruining her "happiness" or just go with it and let her make a huge mistake

i had a try out with my sister for wedding gowns (she is getting married) and she picked out a gorgeous dress for me as i am her bridesmaid. after trying it on, it was indeed beautiful. but after we purchased it, i realised that i could see my tummy bulging out when i tried it on again at home! everything else is perfect except that part. im scared of bringing it to the tailor as ive been to some that really screwed up the cut and style of the dress before with other stuff. anyone knows what i should do? like, buy something to reduce the size of my waist so that i can look my best for my sister.. the wedding is on the 29th of october. any tips, like excersicing too?

$10,000 at the Jewelery store and it is one carat, how much do you think is the markup?

So can you tell me the value of the diamond by itself, and how much the seller makes all together.

EG. If a ring is 10K, and diamond is 5K, does that mean seller gets the $5000 mark up?

We do not want to spend to much money but want a nice place. It needs to hold 20 people. With or without dinner. And maybe we could stay there the night just the 2 of us. I have been looking for a long time now and can use tons of help.

This is the 2nd time I've posted this because I decided to add some information and wanted new people to be able to see all the details.

I have a beautiful plus size gown that I would like to donate to someone that can't afford one or to a good cause. Does anyone know where or how I can do this?

If anyone is in need of a gown, please email me, I'd be glad to email you pictures.

If anyone has read any of my previous posts, they know my husband died a little over a year ago. This gown is special to me, but I'd like to be able to donate it to someone in need so that they can have some of the joy that we had

We Have been togeather 5+yrs, have 6 children between us and as you can imagine almost no money. Our Love may be infinate but our wallets are near non existant.
As we are still as deeply & madly "In-Love" with eachother now, as the day we realised our love was true...more so even... We want nothing but the best for eachother, but the basics of providing all we can for our family makes planning even a small wedding look more and more like a pipe dream. Some one out there must know a way to have a great wedding for pennies (so to speak). All thoughts and sudgestions are welcome.

I know that is usually the tradition :) However, does anyone think it feels weird to think that all these people at the wedding will know the night you have sex. Most people don't usually know when you have sex, for sure, but on this night they do. Does this make anyone feel weird, now that you think about it. I know this sounds a little out there, but I was wondering what you all thought.

What is a traditional ring? Are three stone rings good for engagements? What about these non-diamond stone ring? Are they as "accepted" as regular diamond rings? I am thinking of a three stone diamond middle and other stone accents. I'm not sure though, are they as "accepted"? Anything would help... especially from the ladies. Thanks, I truly love this young woman. -Dale

I am getting married this coming July, and it will cost only $5,000 for 125 people. That includes the reception and wedding, but not my dress. Yes...I got the hook up! But I can only save about $2,500 by that time. I need help getting the other half! I am a full-time student, wife, mom, and we both have jobs. Expenses hinder us from saving more. We have no help from anyone else... Thanks!

I know ultimately it is my choice - but I am not the one that is going to be wearing the dress and I want them to feel comfortable. If one of my bridesmaids doesn't like the color (I am letting them pick the style) should I tell her too bad and make her wear it anyway?

I have failed the Bar Exam three times. I have student loans around $120,000 about $600 a month for the next 30 years. I am unemployed and getting married right before the next bar exam. A lot of jobs out there for me require the Bar. I am hoping to work as a paralegal but have heard I am overqualified which hurts me instead of helping me. I need to work somewhere. I don't know if I should take the next Bar Exam when there is only a day between when I come back from my honeymoon and the Bar Exam. Then again the sooner I can finally pass it the better. I don't want to ruin the wedding and honeymoon for my Fiance by spending the week studying! BUT he needs me to work and earn some money because he will only be able to afford the mortgage but none of the other bills! Having my Bar license would help me jobwise. He did not want me to take it but now has left it up to me.

Almost there! We're finalizing our invitation wording before sending to print. After doing some googling, I realized there may be no need to include "Please R.S.V.P." on my invitation since we are enclosing a separate RSVP card w/ stamped envelope. What do you folks think?

This is the order of what we have on my final invitation draft:

1. Ceremony details
2. Chinese Banquet details
3. In smaller font, "If you're unable to attend we ask your presence in thought and prayer"
***
4. Our wedding website

Here is a picture of a wedding gown very similar to mine. I need help deciding what colors would go best with this color sash (It should be the peridot colored one.)

It's in early spring, and the theme will be semi irish. What colors would look best with this and why?

My father is the old fashioned type of guy that thinks that a guy should ask him before proposing to me. However, because of some decisions that my father has made neither my fiance or I respect him very much, and we both feel that asking him is a sign of respect, not a nessecity. We are already engaged, but have not told anybody yet because we don't want to hurt my father. Should my fiance ask him and then we announce it, so that we keep the peace? Or should we just tell everyone and hope my dad dosen't get too upset? Thanks in advance for your help!!
