First off-Congratulations on getting married! What a wonderful time you are going to have that day!
As far as getting a wedding dress off EBay: why not!! It WILL save you TONS. My suggestion would be to go to a bridal store, have them measure you and get your measurements. Remember: your wedding dress could be larger than your regular size. They all fit a little differently.
I would also see if their is a certain designer you are looking at. As an example: Alfred Angelo. If you like that designer, go to a bridal store, find that designer and a dress that you like and THEN go on Ebay and look it up.
If Ebay is making you nervous, I know that David's Bridal (if they have those near you) have dresses off the rack for $99.00. It's some sale/special they run sometimes. If they are in your area, you can call them and see when it is running.
Good luck on your wedding! Make sure you get your measurements, and no matter where you get your gown from-it's going to be YOUR special day, and you will be beautiful!!

hi
firstly congratulations.
i have brought 2 wedding gowns from ebay the first one i brought when i first got married it was a big white dress with a long train about 3ft. the second one i brought was when my husband and i renewed our wedding vows on our 5th anniversary, it was different to the first one more plain and simple but very elegant.
there are lots to choose from and its a great way to save money.
i also brought bridesmaids dresses and pageboy outfits.
i would advise that you ontact the seller to arrange a viewing of the dress before actually buying it though as my friend brought a dress from ebay it looked fine in the pics on the website but when the dress arrived it had a huge stain on the back that she couldnt get out. she had to buy another one.
hope this helps good luck

I have not but I get very expensive work out clothes there very cheap. You should try it. BE CAREFUL make sure they have a return policy. Also try dealing with the power sellers, they may have a section just for wedding dress. Type in wedding Gown in the search section on ebay.

I had a couple of friends that bought their dresses off Ebay and one of them it worked out fine and the other had quite a few problems such as, color being not exactly what she thought it would be, size not quite right and a couple of stains that weren't mentioned in the ad. I guess if you are wanting to get your dress through Ebay just make sure that you know what your exact size is and make sure that you get any and all information from the seller before buying. Hope this helps you out.

I bought my "mother of the groom" dress on eBay, and got it for a great price. Still had a $180 price tag on it, and I paid $30 for it. Sizing can be a problem when you order anything on line. Keep in mind that bridal shops size their clothing a bit small for the size. If you know somebody who does alterations, you may want to order a size larger than your normal size, and then have it taken in where it's too large. I've ordered lots of clothes on eBay and I've found all too often they didn't fit very well. Ask the seller to measure every part of that dress carefully and give you measurements before you buy.

I don't know of anyone that has done this and that is probably because once you buy it, the item belongs to you, whether or not you like it.
You should try on the dress before committing to it and you should know what alterations, if any, need to be performed. Remember, a picture can be deceiving so it is best to see the item in person.
I have done a lot of shopping on E-Bay and am thorough in the researching of the item before I purchase but I don't think that I would buy a dress online.

Not of buying a wedding gown. It would be a nice way to cut corners just make sure nothings amazingly wrong with it. And have a back up plan if something is.

I have not known anyone who has, but I am actually looking to sell one there. I have looked around the site and the only thing that I was leary about were the dresses that were advertised in masses. I would probably be more comfortable buying from a private seller. Make sure you are able to get a refund if you purchase the dress and find yourself unhappy.
Another option that was once suggested to me was renting a dres...men rent their attire for the day why can't we?
Best Wishes and Congrats!!!

I didn't but several of my friends have....just make sure and get the measurements (not just the "size") before buying it. I got my dress at a resale shop (It's a Mary's PC) that had the orginal tags on it for $1800.00...apparently the first owner didn't end up getting married but I LOVED my dress. I felt awkward about buying it a 2nd hand store (or Ebay) but when I went looking for a brand new one, I kept trying to find one like the one at the 2nd hand store, so I ended up going back and paying $250.00 for it! LOVED IT!!! Good luck to you, I'm sure your wedding will be perfect!

I've never bought a wedding dress off of Ebay, but I have purchased other sorts of clothing from that site. As long as you have good pics and the seller has a really good positive feedback, I'd go for it.
