Here is a picture of a wedding gown very similar to mine. I need help deciding what colors would go best with this color sash (It should be the peridot colored one.)

It's in early spring, and the theme will be semi irish. What colors would look best with this and why?

Can anyone give me a website where I can compare colors side by side? I'm thinking a pale pink or something...

The sash IS supposed to be green! It's the very first swatch on the bottom row.

This dress isn't the exact dress. Mine is an ivory colored halter. I just posted this one because it had the best picture of the sash.

As for the girl who's a 7/9, I'm a size 4.....

Cream or ivory will go very nicely with the peridot color and calla lilies as your flower (or for a little accent use pale pink roses) Early spring is a lovely time for a wedding as well. Maybe your bridesmaids can wear the Peridot color for their bridesmaids dresses (Tea Length dresses might be very nice if its not too chilly during that time of year where you live) with a bouquet of calla lilies (or pale pink roses). Davids bridal has flower girl dresses with the sash in peridot. If your dress is Ivory then have an ivory cake instead of stark white and Ivory invitations. Hope these gave you some ideas. Good Luck and have fun planning your wedding.

Note: Colors very by website. I was planning a wedding for a friend a few months ago and every site I went to had different colors for the same color name. I would contact the vendors where you might be purchasing the dresses and ask if they can mail you fabric samples of the color so you can compare them in person. Here are some sites I found that may help you:

Here are some sites with info for irish themed weddings:

Hope these help

I just got married and know how overwhelming this process is... first thing I'd say is, you will have an amazing day no matter what colors you choose, invitation paper weight you pick, or wine you serve... try to stay focused on the big picture (something I wish I'd done more of).

In any case -- I think if you're going somewhat Irish, why not go with a more vibrant, but similar hue green for your dresses, flowers, accents? You could even work some clover into your bouquets if it didn't feel too hoaky. The dress is gorgeous and dramatic, I would keep the girls' dresses relatively clean and simple -- but complementary.

Good luck planning and best wishes!

The dress with sash is gorgeous. The peri is actually a light blue, yes? Try matching that with either a burgundy or a medium-dark gray. Both would be stunning selections. You mention the theme will be "semi irish," however. Obviously, you think Irish, you think greens. If you need to stay in the green family, stay away from either very light or very dark green hues as they will overpower the dainty-ness of the peri color. Best wishes!

A sage color would go very pretty with it.

One word of advice from a normal sized gal who tried this dress on..... I am a size 7/9 and I tried that same dress on.... the sash across the midsection was NOT very flattering on me, I think that it made me look wider.... a lot wider.

I'm not trying to discourage you. If you tried it on and love it, GREAT! But, if not, I'd go try it on first. But, the color is beautiful and a sage or pale yellow color would go beautifully with that.... maybe even both since yellow and blue and green are in the same color group.

Good luck with your wedding! I know you'll be beautiful no matter what you end up wearing! :-)

Surprisingly, I think maybe a pastel pink or pastel yellow may be very complimentary, especially in the spring. Initially I thought that those pastel colors will pale your bridesmaids girls, and they may, but the colors with the peridot really brings out the "spring-like" theme. Plus it is your wedding day and you probably want to be the one to stand out anyway.

Beautiful dress for one!! You could have your bridesmaids in the same peridot color dresses. Light purples, pinks...or any pastel color would look nice I think. If you want you could do a pastel green in some accents like flowers or candles.

What you can do is ask the store for a swatch of the sash, then go to a fabric store and look at colours and see which colours you like best with it.
Congratulations on getting married. I am a newlywed myself!

I guess you had better go with the emerald sash, then. Periwinkle is blue. I have never seen such a thing = isn't it more a bridesmaid thing to have the colour?
With emerald, you could match light yellow, pale pink.

When first going in it shows apple.... but the peridot is very pretty. For colors that would go well with it, since it is a light color, you would do well to stay with light colors. I would say go with periwinkle blue.

Just a note...but traditionally, any green in an Irish wedding is oddly enough considered bad luck while blue is good luck. Not exactly sure why...but thought maybe you'd like to know.
