Awhile back I was asked to be in my friends wedding. I was not included in any of the shopping, I was told about it after the fact. I was made to feel un-welcome in all of the planning. After my saying I would be in the wedding I became very ill.....sometimes even bedridden. Due to medical and finacial reasons I declined to be in the ceremony. The week of the wedding I was terribly sick....horrible stomach virus ontop of my other issues. I was un-able to attend the ceremony but sent a card and gift to say I was sorry I was un-able to be there. I never got a thank you and now the Bride won't speak to me.....a lifelong friendship ruined. I feel it's childish. I couldn't have been the only person to be un-able to attend. She also never sent thank you's to any of my family members who also sent gifts. I feel it was rude.

I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years and have been engaged for two of those years. Recently I stumbled upon his open e-mail on my computer and found several e-mails from his ex in high school. He promised me he would never talk to her again as we have had many arguments about her calling, writing letters and visiting. (He says that they are good friends and that she is married so nothing will happen between them.) He was invited to her wedding last year but she told him that he could bring anyone but me as a guest. She has told him that she doesn't like me at all and constantly asks him why he left her for me. She ends one of her e-mails asking if she can come to our wedding. I absolutely do not want her to come to mine if I wasn't allowed to go to hers. I feel bad for snooping around my fiance's e-mail but I don't know if I should talk to him since he will become defensive. Do I talk to him about this or keep my mouth shut?

We would like to get married Vegas style - quick and easy. We want to focus more attention (and money) on the reception. We want to get married here in Michigan - any ideas?

I am not having a traditional wedding, so doesn't need to necessarily be traditional.

I am looking for something non denominational that deals with issues of love / soul mates / friendships - poetry or prose or quotes, etc. Need 3 pieces to be read by friends at the reception rather than the ceremony

Thanks so much for all your ideas in advance

What would be a good song to to play before my dad gives me away? I am his baby girl and want something sweet. My mom passed away when i was 13. My sister used butterfly kisses so I don't want to use that.

My best friend is getting married in October and they've done a website for there wedding, on one of those make your own wedding website, site.

I went to the Bridal registry, to see what they would like as a gift, but I honestly cannot afford what they've listed. They have several registries with several major department stores. Belk, Macy's, Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn are all listed.

The items are really expensive things like a Kitchen aid Mixer that sells for $399 on Crate & Barrel, a $400 chandelier, a $799 dining room table, a Cottage Armoire that sells for over $1000 at Pottery Barn, and so much more, the list is endless.

I don't know what to do. I’m on a budget right now and I'm already in debt from university, and it's going to cost me a lot just to get to the wedding which is in Atlanta . . . I’m in Raleigh. I don't want to hurt there feelings by giving them something cheap, so does anyone know of any quality stores with "cheaper" / affordable items?

that her Maid of Honor is doing a "not so good" job of planning things (to say the least)...and you truly hope this will not fall back on the rest of the bridal party.

My finace's parents are paying for the catering at the reception and rental of the space. We are paying for the flowers, photographer, dj, etc.... pretty much everything else. My father passed away a few years ago and my mother is in no way able to help out. Should I word the invitation as if his parents are hosting, or should I word it as if we, as a couple, are requesting our guests' attendance? I feel really bad not having my mother on the invites because she feels so awful about not being able to pay for everything, but she was injured and was on disability for a really long time. What a mess, huh?
I love his parents, but with us paying for a large chunk of everything I wonder if it's right to say that they are hosting.
Help!
