Ok..Money dosen't make a relationship...Money donsen't make the person...However money changes ppl..I don't care who says money won't change a person it does..I have been dirt floor was too nice broke and I have the money to do just about anything I want...I have had my kids through both times and everywhere in the middle....Money does make you happier...You know your bills are paid...You know nobody is going to go hungery...You know nobody is going without what they need...So in that sence you are a happier person...But you can have all of that and have a horriable relationship...All money does is ease your mind as far as finances are concerned and that makes you happier...If you have a steady cash flow then you know what you have comming in and going out..If you are responsiable you won't spend out of your means...And that will make you more stable and a more steady person...That will help you to have a more steady relationship...Money isn't important...Poor ppl are happy together...Rich ppl are happy..Ppl in the middle are happy...Then again all of those ppl have relationship problems too...Money isn't the route to happness...But it can ease your mind...Don't let money make your relationship...

Honestly, yes. Now that doesn't mean someone has to be rich.

What it means is a couple has to be financially stable in order to keep the relationship afloat.

Think about the hierarchy of needs. People will always put their personal safety and needs for shelter ahead of relationships. So if that is threatened by financial problems then the relationship is going to be on the rocks, and eventually doomed to fail.

I would say responsiblity with money is more important than HAVING money to spend.

However, money is important because - whether we like it or not - it brings stability and opportunity. Without money and the responsiblity that comes along with handling it, you won't have a home, clothing and other necessities. lack of those things can bring a lot of strain to a relationship (and heck, relationships are hard enough without those added problems!)

You have to have enough money to support yourself, a person who is not self sufficient is not a great prospect. Believe me I have had 2 boyfriends who did not work, and it turned to resentment after a while, one of them even resorted to stealing from me. I would now NEVER go out with someone who did not work, or was not actively seeking a proper job. I do not stand for people who sponge anymore.
