Singles & Dating - 5 October 2007

I'm shy, insecure, and have trust issues. I want to know how to change this. I'm at a low point in my life, but I've got a good plan for the next year that should pan out if everything goes well. Are there other ways to gain confidence and independence?

Also, about my trust issues. I know why I had them; a weird online relationship for 5 months, and I traveled 32 hours on a bus to go see this person, it was not the person who they told me they were. It was a fat, overweight, hairy, b*tch that didn't even want to stay and chat with me for a little bit, they just told me to go back home and left. I look back on this relationship and see all the things that I should have seen were lies, and now I over analyze everything. How do I stop this and just trust people?

If you know good sites that can help out I'd appreciate that too.

my brother is 17 and im 14. i have a boyfriend who is 16. my brother is trying to "forbid" me from seeing him. Y does he always act like that. Nobody eva tells him wat kind of girlfriends he can and cannot have. it is so annoying of him interrogating evry bf i have. he doesn't even know my boyfriend. he is really sweet and a nice person. I don't want to snatch him away from his girl friend, becasue I know how that feels to have another girl do that to you and it's nto a fun experience. BUT i can't help my feelings toward him and i tried to make them go away but they won't. What should i do?

So, tonight I was at my boyfriend's house. I went into the bathroom and left my ring (right hand ring) on the counter (I take my rings off when I wash my hands)

I didn't realize I did it. Well, I was sitting and watching TV and he comes over and sits next to me. He talks my left hand and jokingly says, "will you marry me?"

I knew it wasn't a real proposal b/c obviously it was a ring I already owned and he did do it in a joking manner.

However, what do we think of the joke? Did he have any real meaning behind it or was he just joking.

We've been dating for 3 years, btw.

So we've been dating heavily for almost two months. sex is great, he's very sweet and affectionate. calls every day, see him 2-3 times per week. Now he says he thinks we should stop having sex because he's afraid I'm going to get attached. every time he's said it we ended up in bed within an hour. I think he's afraid he's getting attached. seems like every time I meet someone, they either have kids, and are looking for a father for thier children, or they just want sex, and it also seems like they all know my ex's.

Ok well there's this guy and he wasn't my bf but we were friends then became not friends then became friends again and he asked me if I wanted to be friends with benefits. I really liked him when I first met him and then I started liking him again and we both never done stuff with the opp sex other than kiss so I wanted to be each others firsts. Well finally after 6 yrs it's over! I was so in love with him...but he was soooo stuck up more worried about his looks, clothing, hair, shoes, etc. it was sick! I'm so glad that he's gone.

What does it mean when my ex girlfriend asks my friend for my phone number?...We talked and everything was cool. We talked like nothing even happened, it felt natural. She says she wants to hang out..blah blah blah. hasnt seen me in a long time. its nice to here from me...yada yada. She tells me to call her before I come up. I get a phone call from her a week and half later. I tell her that im coming up next weekend. She tells me that she gave our cat to someone. She goes into details about a dude she has been seeing at work and says she wont be around this weekend becasuse she is going camping with her boyfriend.

Why do I need to know that??? lol. Why would u tell me that?? Is she nuts? i didnt contact her, i text her 2 weeks later and said "whats up?" she responded..."do you need something?"
i dont get it. We went out for 5 years and have been apart for 7 months now. Keep in mind too that SHE asked one of my friends "So I hear he's got a Girlfriend now?" that's how it began.I don't!

My friends and I went out to dinner one Saturday night about 3 weeks ago and the waiter and I flirted for the 4 hours we were there. So my friends and I have been going back there to eat every Saturday night since then. This guy and I flirt the whole time and every time he walks by our table, all he does is stare. Even when he's not waiting on us, he always takes a break to come over to our table and chat with me. My friends keep encouraging me to give him my # but I don't wanna push it and I'd like him to ask me. I like this kid soooo much. My friend told me it was obvious to everyone except him that I liked him. A few times, I've caught him looking at me when we're testing and stuff. He's in my group in our History class, along with my friend Tyler. I used to not talk very much, but now I talk a lot more. I'm feeling very popular lately because people think I'm really funny... so I'll be like, talking a lot once we finish our work and stuff, and sometimes he talks to someone else, and sometimes he like, smiles nad laughs when I'm talking, and sometimes he just gives me this weird look. In french class, we do a lot of presentations, skits, and stuff, and whenever he goes up and presents, every time he looks my way, he does that weird thing where he like, flips his hair back or whatever. lol He's soooo cute.
