So, tonight I was at my boyfriend's house. I went into the bathroom and left my ring (right hand ring) on the counter (I take my rings off when I wash my hands)
I didn't realize I did it. Well, I was sitting and watching TV and he comes over and sits next to me. He talks my left hand and jokingly says, "will you marry me?"
I knew it wasn't a real proposal b/c obviously it was a ring I already owned and he did do it in a joking manner.
However, what do we think of the joke? Did he have any real meaning behind it or was he just joking.
We've been dating for 3 years, btw.

Hummmm...I think he's testing the waters to see what you would say. However, I must say, if I were you, I would be bummed...I mean it was YOUR ring he was using to pop the make-believe-question-for-now. Three years is a LONG time to be with someone without the relationship going to the next level (engagement), although I don't know your ages so this may be a problem.
Perhaps your wanting this to go to the next level...am I right? Well maybe it's time to talk to him about this...seems like this is what you might want next.
Good Luck sweetie.

I can't really answer that because I don't know him. I suggest that you take a step back and assess his personaltiy and decide if this comment is within his nature. Does he joke like that or is he serious most of the time. If you do that you will be able to tell if he would ask you in this manner, or if you're thinking this way because that is what you want to hear.

Wow, how candy and specific. You do understand that to be bipolar, he has 2 distinctive personalities. Do the two halves of him prefer you the two? If no longer, perhaps you may decrease him in a million/2, and supply the undesirable a million/2 to his Fluffin. with reference to his puppy named Fluffin, is Stooge attempting to declare he's a "Stud Muffin with Fluffin"? the two that, or provide Fluffin away to the close by zoo. I hear they could use extra meals for the lions and tigers. i theory Stooge additionally had a puppy gerbil too? ask your self what he does with that little creature?

say yes (if you would say yes if it were a "real" proposal...and see what happens. Perhaps he was testing the waters. Maybe he was joking. Call it and see where it goes from there.

Three years and he is still playing games with you. High time he married you if he really loves and respects you. Or is he still foooling you.....like why buy the cow when the milk is free.

maybe he's trying to impose something. he's not entirely joking about it because if he was, that would be stupid that will risk him in getting into something that he wouldn't want
