Nothing stopping you from being a friend to this person but you have to set clear boundaries of how the friendship is to be and there is nothing wrong with honesty amongst friends, you can still go for coffee or dinner on occasions even a movie at times, with the understanding that its just friends.

And sometimes a friendship can be more difficult to maintain then a relationship at times, time is funny it can work for you and it can work against you as well

Well you might get some answers you don't want to hear, but I will tell you I've been there, and I hurt my friend in the long run.

Chalk it up to "he belongs to someone else...I must move on" I'm sorry sweetie, but it's best not to try and persue this relationship especially if he in love with this girl.

Just think how hurt this girl would feel. It's an awful feeling to be dumped.
Good Luck.

Just push the feelings away as much as possible.
Don't be a *****, and don't "steal" her boyfriend.
Try to find other people to surround yourself with. Don't talk to him for a while. It might be hard to completely avoid him, but try your best!

BEST OF LUCK!
