Can't we just make a promise to each other without any material involve?
Is it just the society that gives us a hype about what we need and what we should do on our wedding?

We are hindus who live in India. Got married 6 months ago. My wife and I are having differences and we are heading towards a divorce. She will, fortunately or unfortutunately, agree to sign a divorce petition and we have already discussed this. We live in the same house as of today.
My questions are
1) Is there a minimum period after marriage that we have to wait in order to seek a divorce?
2) How long is it going to take for the case?
3) When can either of us remarry (marry someone else, of course)?
4) What grounds can we cite in the divorce application?
5) Lastly, we havent registered our marriage (no marriage certificate), so do we really need a divorce?

I will be really grateful to anyone who helps. Thanks In advance.

I have been with this man for the past ten years and like any normal couple we have had our share of ups and downs. We are currently in the process of building a house and the closer it gets to closing the more nervous I get. We have lived together but in a 3 bedroom apt. Am I just nervous becuase this is such a big step?

So I am divorced and my ex husband was my first boyfriend, the only guy I've slept with, the first guy I've kissed and I am having a hard time not getting over the divorce but trying to like someone. I don't even have a crush on anyone right now an I hate the way that feels. I'm scared that I might not ever be able to let anyone into my life again. Is this normal? Does anyone have any suggestions on getting over this phase? i have a couple of guys that would like to date me but I don't even want to spend time alone with a guy for some reason. I don't understand why I feel this way. Because I know that our marriage wasn't meant to be, we are both happier apart and I just want to be able to like someone again.

My husband has made remarks about me being too independent, but if I don't look out for myself who will? Also, before I was married I was single and I have always worked, had my own apartment and paid my own way for everything. Even when I was so called "dating", I never left home without my own money. I had several friends that wanted to be wined and dined. They expected a man to take care of them. Not me. I learned a long time ago that you can't rely on people. But the weird thing with my husband is if I ask him to do something (household projects; carrying heavy objects; etc.), I will get attitude. If he initiates it on his own or offers and I decline, then he says I am too independent. What does he want? A needy woman who can't stand on her own two feet? That's the same exact thing I experienced with guys that I dated when I was single. They'd much rather do something for a woman who doesn't have a job, has kids, etc.

There are a lot of trust issues for me as well.

I live in Connecticut. I got divorced in the late 1990s. At the time, Connecticut law said I must pay child support until my son is 18. He turns 18 in a couple of months. However, some people are telling me the laws have changed and now child support continues while the child is in college. Nobody was sure if this new law applies to old cases though.
I sure would like to know what is up with this...my court appearance is in two weeks and I have no idea what I am in for. My attorney is on vacation and nobody at the courthouse knew the answer.

My mother in law left her husband of 30 years and moved upstate where my husband and I are living (not with us of couse). She is cheating on my husbands father. He is in the dark about it because we are 350 miles away from him. Her husband thinks that if he spends all his money on her that she will come back, she even mentioned to him that he should take her to Florida. This is killing me to see him treated like this should I tell him that she has a boyfriend and she even spent the night at his house??? I just cannot see this going on any longer it is not fair to him, but I don't want to ruin the relationship with the grandchildren also. Please help!!!

I know it is important to become friends and love each other first and have a lasting relationship of trust and such. But I do not intend to spend the rest of my life with someone who I can't even enjoy sex with *_*.
In my opinion:
I think you should know if you will be the right match for that person before you mess up and be stuck with that person for life ~_~. A life of bad sex..A bad fit....leads to cheating and misery.
I'm not condoning going out having sex with every one....but I just think you should know if it's gonna work first.

Any other opinions?

I am sure people have gone to weddings only to find out down the road that the couple got divorced. What saddens me more than the divorce is how do two people who have passion and hope and dreams and romance and happiness while they are dating when they split up come to hate oneanother and are at eachothers throats. I was so grieved when my friend got divorced they seemed so be so in love and happy and thier marraige did not even last 6 years. I would have never thought in a million years her and her husband would ever divorce because they seemed so happy. How do a couple go from I do to I hate your guts? Why does this happen? I just find this so sad. This was on my mind so I thought I would post.

I am really at wits end and am worried about my marriage as my husband seems to be addicted to porn and bizzare sex. I have recently discovered that he has posted a profile on a adult sex site. I am so upset as he posted he wants very bizzare sex with anyone, more than one, whatever, whoever. He adds "Dont email me as my wife may find out!" I discovered this all by accident as someone responded to his ad through my email for some reason. This just breaks my heart as I thought we had a pretty good marriage going on. We have been married for 12 years. We have a pretty good sex life...although he wants it alot more than me as I am starting menopause and am not always in the mood, but it's not like we never have it. My biggest concern I guess is the kind of sex he is looking for. I can't even discribe it, but its NOT normal! This is the 2nd time in our marrige I have caught him doing this. Help..I don't want to loose my marriage!

He can't go to sleep without the tv on and I can't sleep with the tv on. The issue lately is he is falling alsleep downstairs, waking up in the middle of the night and coming upstairs turning the tv on to get back to sleep up stairs. He does have the sound turned off, but I still can't sleep. Does anyone have any resolution issues?

7 years ago. This has ruined everything we have had together. She is devistated and she has the right. She has left me for several days then came back. One minute she is the great woman I married and then the next 3 days she is depressed. I try to help but she wants no part of me. I am afraid that this will kill my marriage. I only admitted to it because it finally was just to much to keep from the girl I love. We have a beautiful 4 year old little girl together. And I want to keep us a family. Help?

i will get smashed and bashed for this but i read all the time women say its ok for men to do this and men say why not? me being from another country where couples dont tolerate those things and its very unusual for married men/women to watch porn or couples at strip clubs, cheating hardly takes place. here everything is so open and sex is nothing but an entertainment i dont seem to wonder why people stray and loose values and morals.
