Can't we just make a promise to each other without any material involve?
Is it just the society that gives us a hype about what we need and what we should do on our wedding?

You can do whatever you want to do. Wedding rings are a tradition. However, my husband and I do not wear wedding rings, and we have several. It is not the ring that makes you married, or keeps you from straying. It is your committment and your heart that does that.

You can do whatever you happen to want to do on your wedding day! Its your day. If you and your spouse to be doesn't want to exchange rings and just say vows that are from your heart... the do it. You can make arrangements with the person that is performing the ceremony and let them know you want to skip the exchange of rings (also let your photographer know that the ring exchange won't be happening so he won't be waiting to catch the moment) Remember the day is for you and your spouse and not everyone else.

Very true. Wedding rings are a symbol of our love to another and our commitment to them. You don't have to have a ring to be married. Wearing a wedding ring doesn't necessarily mean that you are married.

A wedding ring is symbolic of your commitment. And it is a mark for all to see that you are married.

No you don't have to have one. I like wearing mine b/c it shows the world that I'm taken. It doesn't add or take away from the promises that my husband and I made to each other.
