Marriage & Divorce - 23 July 2007

Seriously there are so many posts here about cheating spouses - nearly everyone has a story to tell. Is it part of our make up to want to cheat on our spouse - some feel that just the thought is enough to classify as cheating, wow , but it does seem that an intimate relationship with one person does lose its excitiement over time and then one party decides that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. If this is the norm it would explain why the saying " you have to work hard at your marriage/relationship " arose - maybe this is the real struggle in relationships - how to keep them interesting and new to resist the "natural " urge to stray onto new ground. Why is marriage still so popular if 50% fail because of a cheating spouse? Would alowing a relaxation of the strict monogamy rule in marriage make them last longer - speaking for myself I would not leave my wife and kids for a brief affair or one night stand either myself or if she did it.
Any ideas?

My daughter was molested by her step father Timothy tobin Roche here in las vegas 4 -5 yrs ago.The mother just told me about it 4 months ago. I asked her 3 yrs ago about this because his parents molested both my 2 children and his 2 children that we share by the same mother. She flat out said no but he had urges. I have now found out that she lied and he confessed to her back then. He has since confessed to me and offered to let me kick his *** freely.!?!! I want more than that please. The police said there is nothing they can do since my daughter doesnt remember now because of the mothers cover up. There is other instances of him molesting others. Well she now has started to FEEL SORRY for him. He is a drug addict(speed) doesnt work in and out of jail, controlling, and talks **** to my daughter! She now has moved him back inside the house where 6 kids live. Nobody will help me I feel like I am the bad guy here and all i want is for him to go to prison for what he did to my daughter .

My husband has been receiving texts and calls from another woman whom I do not know, he said he met her when he was working in England about 6 years ago and they kept in touch. He has also been texting and phoning her when Im not around. He hides his phone or turns it off when I know she has been in contact. He will not let me answer the phone to her or see any of the texts - they are deleted immediately. He doesnt have her number stored on his phone. He says she is just a friend, but this is torturing me, I have asked him to tell her not to contact him again - to choose me over her but it never lasts long and she always comes back on the scene. It is starting to destroy our marriage. I know I have a jealous streak but he knew that when he married me 10 years ago - Am I being unreasonable in asking him not to contact her? Would other women put up with it?

thanks for your answers but i have a job but i will not make my kids live in the same standard he provided to us , i ll move my child to a cheaper school.but i am so afraid i feel lonely and unsecure concerning our financial position without him,i ve passed the feeling of anger i s this right to feel afraid?? what about what shall i say to my kids?i know that he will mainipulate them and accuse me of our divorce.Ithink he should pay for what he did and that leaving him not supporting my kids and even court in my country gives the children quarter what the father earn and as what he earns can not be proven he will leave my children with nearly no money. does anyone have a plan??

i have been dating my pastor 4 a while...

One night my fiance and I had a bad fight. I went online and was telling my best friend about it. My best friend asked me if I really loved my fiance and I said "sometimes Im not sure". I only said this because I was very upset at the time. I didnt mean it. Ever since I said this my friend has been convinced that I shouldn't marry my fiance. I keep telling him that I was just upset when I said that and I do in fact love my fiance very much. He won't listen to me. He says things like "why haven't you married him already?". My friend had a 5150 psychiatric hold put on her that turned into a 5250 hold because she tried to committ suicide after her husband found out about her third affair in less than 2 yrs.

The details about the affair are gritty and heartbreaking because we've known each other for 10 yrs and we're both 19 yrs old now. My friend has been married for 4 yrs to a man she's been living with since she was 12y/o. He's 8yrs older. They have 3 kids together.

My problem comes with how this affects our friendship. Apparently my friend took her 2yr old twin daughters with her to meet this man she met off of the phone chat and she had sex with him while her children were being watched by who knows!

I find this fact disgusting and I don't really know how I should treat my friend after she gets out of the mental institution. Is this friendship worth keeping with someone who might relaspe. I don't want to abandon her at her time of need.

Should I keep the friendship?

Met my first love we where both 15 when we met and married at 20 for 13 years. She told me that she fell out of love with me but will always love me. She fell in love witha guy at her work. We where each others first and shared so many wonderful times together. All I can think about is him doing her and her him! Is that normal? I stay up all night thinking about them having sex. My husband is on a business trip in Raleigh until Friday (he left yesterday) and I told him to call me at 7:45 am, 12:35 pm and 10:00 pm. Well he has called on time since he left, except for tonight. In many cultures, marriages are arranged by family! Often a mate is chosen from distant relatives or from close friends of the family. Would anyone consider having a having arrange marriage? Is love easier or harder to develop and maintain is those relationships? What are the pros and cons of going that route?

If I Divorce my abusive husband, and my children have never been a day without me in there life, say that they would never want to spend the night with there father, and not be able to not sleep in there own bed at night for visitation with him, will the court change there life style that they are happy with? husband is in the Millitary, and has only seen the kids two weeks out of the year, they are very happy now, and want it to stay that way, I'm scared!! he threatens that he will take the kids from me, and that I must listen to his commands, he sexually threatens me, saying what he can do when he returns to visit, I would only supervised visitation, any advise??
