got mad @ you and had a fling. the fling resulted in a pregnancy so he stuck by HER side. then the night of the birth of his baby he winds up calling YOU confessing his deep love for you and how he has never moved on. what does this mean?

Means you need to make it more clear that you dont want anything to do with him!! He must not have understood the first time you told him. Dont go back to him no matter how much you think that you love him cuz he will just end up hurting you again. Why call you on the night of the birth? Maybe he just realized that the babys mother had to wait 6 weeks before having sex again so thought he would call you!!!

It means that he's a selfish jerk who doesn't even know what the meaning of love really is. He calls you the day his baby is born? What kind of man thinks about himself and hooking up with an ex on the same day he becomes a father? If he would do that to his baby and its mother, he'll do that to you too one day. His fling was just an excuse. I've been there.......TWICE! The man picks some stupid thing to get mad about, breaks up with you for it, then goes and sleeps with someone else who turns him on. Then, once the novelty of the other girl wears off, he makes excuses to keep you interested in him so you don't get over him and find someone else. He probably knows you're in love with him. It doesn't take much work for him to make sure you stay that way. Then, once that man has gotten all he wants out of the other relationship, he comes back to you and says he's sorry, that he's learned his lesson, that she doesn't understand him the way you do, that he can't forget about you, etc. He thinks you'll take him back with no question, that you'll be so happy to have your love back that you won't argue with him and that you'll work extra hard to please him. Seriously though, it won't last. If you take him back, he'll find another excuse to leave you again when another girl he likes comes along. When that doesn't work out, he'll come back to you again, making you forget about how much he hurt you just for the joy of having him back again. It's all a game. Trust me.
There are three things you can do:
1. Take him back and believe what he says. I don't recommend this because guys like him will hurt you again someday.
2. Kick him to the curb and find someone who is worthy of you. Best idea.
3. Talk to the other girl, see what she says. Maybe he's telling her a lot of lies where you're concerned, maybe he's not. It will be a hard thing to do, but you have a right to know if he's telling her that he loves her and all that.
If this guy is a major player/cheater, then he will use the same lines on you that he uses on other girls. If he's genuine and really does love you, you should be able to tell by what the girl says if he's sincere. Even if she gets mad, you'll be able to tell.
You probably already know which one is the wisest choice. Think with your head and not your heart. Love is blind, but the mind is harder to fool and you don't seem like a fool to me.

PS: If you do take him back, please use something to prevent pregnancy and disease. Since he got that other girl pregnant, it is obvious he doesn't use any protection and you don't want to become a mother and have him leave you to raise the child alone while he goes out and gets another girl pregnant. Many players have a lot of kids by many different mothers and many of them get diseases that can be a torture at best and a killer at the worst. Protect yourself, no matter what you do. You probably already know to do this, but I did want to point it out because it sounds like he's very careless about his body and I didn't want you to make that same mistake. He's not worth it.

He called you because he felt bad about the way he has treated you, as in leaving you to be with the woman he had a fling with.
by stucking to the side of the other woman is a clear indication that he doesn't love you, his confession is just a result of his guilty conscience

He made his choice, now let him live with it. What kind of man would call you at a time like that anyway? He obviously has a motive that you don't know about. If he cared about you so much then he wouldn't have left you or even cheated on you? He knew his other options but chose to leave you instead. You deserve much better. I would be very cautious around him and don't trust what he says. He's already cheated on you. What makes you think he won't do it again? I think you already know that he his just one big mistake waiting to happen...again. Good Luck.

Run, run away. As someone else said the reality of having a child has hit home and he wants outta there. He treated you very badly, and now there's a child in the equation. You deserve better.

Nothing,he's just looking for a way out. You need to tell him that he's going to be okay and that you care about him,but he needs to be there for the new lady and his child cause they will need him more. Not saying that you can't be there for him,but all this is fresh to him and his emotions are all over the place right now just let reality set in and then see what happens from there.

Sounds to me like the shock of the baby actually coming into the world made him desire to grab on to freedom. I would be willing to bet that he is not going to be father of the year. Maybe a send-a-check-in-the-mail, what-more-do-you-want kinda guy. I would not get involved with this guy again if I were you.
