Marriage & Divorce - 26 September 2006

Ok this is my 3rd and last posting...
My wife and I have been having problems off and on for the last couple of years... Alot of it has been mine and my inability to grow up and our failure to communicate. I moved out about 6 weeks ago... We started to date others and we were at a mediation/counseling session yesterday. One hour turned into 3 and it was amazing... We told each other things that neither of us ever heard.

We continued this for another hour after the session and finally decided that we are going to end up stop dating the other people and date each other. Not moving back in and not forcing anything... Baby steps only for now... We are going to see how it goes and be open... no seperate lives and get to know each other. Just want to know your thoughts if this will work.

My husband and I recently divorced (six months from separation to divorce becoming final). Our son is 8 and is having trouble adjusting to the changing situation. We have put him in counseling to make sure he is okay. My ex had an affair and is planning on moving in with the other woman in a couple of months. He has already introduce her to our son as a friend. When I talk to my ex about our son's concerns he always downplays the impact his new relationship will have on our son. "He will adjust - and he will be fine". When my friend went through her divorce my ex was the first to criticize her ex about what he was doing to their son. Now that the shoe is on the other foot he seems to have forgot everything he said. He is damaging his relationship with his son and I am getting a little tired trying to make him see that. I do not say anything bad to our son about my ex or the other woman but I am getting a little tired of covering for him. Do I give up and let him deal with the fallout?

hai i am a girl from india, where we get married not by our own choice, our parents choose the guy we marry . thats how i got married.its been a yr since i got married n now i live in US with him. i myself am an engineer.i want to make it clear id did not marry him to come to US but married him only coz my elders choose him n thought he was suitable. he is a good man, no doubt but for him i am always a second priority. he expects me to adjust to all situations. his parents have come to my place, they r healthy n fine but he wants me to do all their job, serve tea,breakfast,lunch n dinner, even though i do all this i dont even get any kind of appreciation. he says his parents r old fashioned so they dont appreciate, all i have to do to cook n take care of them instead of taking my carrer seriously. if i talk to him abt this he only fights . if he loves his parents let him take care but here he forces me to do everything n then does not even love or care for my feelings, i am very hurt

I am 24 and getting married soon my boyfriend recently met my parents their spanish and they were hard on him and he was thrown totally off guard with the how do intend to provide for my daughter what type of family does do you come from are you a family oriented person and also having to meet 25 of my relatives at once. My husband's ex-girlfriend calls him from time to time and tells him that she thinks about him all the time and wants to know if that matters to him? She asks him if he will take her back? and I might add that this is the same girl that cheated on him with my ex-boyfriend YES!!! My ex and I broke up after 4 years, because she cheated on my husband with him and as fate would have it my husband and I ended up together married now for over a year and have a 1 year old little boy together! My sister had a baby with someone who is legally married to another woman except they don't associate anymore and he does not know where she is located. However, since he couldnt hold a job for the last 2 years, she left him with their 1 yr old daughter. both of their names are on the birth certificate and they live in georgia. i really hate my husband. its been a year of marriage n he has given me lots of tears,i hate him.he is a very confused guy, always wanting to please everyone , and in that process hurts my feelings. he has never made me feel that he cares or loves me. his parents r also very wierd, i dont stay with them but when his parents r arround he cars for them, takes so much care, does all their work and will always be thinking whats runnung in their mind but when it comes to me he expects me to adjust to everything. he is so insensitive with me. i have left my parents who loved me so much to be with him and he gives everybody else higher priority that me.he has also told me once that when its between me n his parents he would always go with his parents . i feels so hurt by that for him i am always second but when it comes to his works or his parents work , i only should do. i am sick of it. he is a selfish brute. even if i tell him all this its no use coz his level of understanding is very bad

I knew he was sort of uptight when we met but, he made an effort to loosen up and act like he was having fun with me. Now, he looks down his nose at most suggestions I make to have some fun. I'm not wild myself but I do like to cut loose occasionally and have a good time. We both maintain a very businesslike demeanor at work and in appropriate settings but everyone needs to let their hair down sometimes. We've been invited to parties and concerts but he shows no interest. I'd like to have a drink occasionally but he frowns on that. He doesn't like it if I tell a dirty joke or if someone tells one to me. I seems that what I find fun, entertaining or hilarious is beneath him. It bothers me to not be able to have fun with my own husband. I think that he is very concerned about others seeing him acting less than perfect and is afraid of being judged harshly. He is also rather judgemental himself. He wasn't always this way and I really don't understand why he is now. Any ideas?

He is rather uptight and our sex life is downright dull. Whenever I make a suggestion to spice things up, he acts like I've hurt his feelings, gets mad or says that "I don't know what I'm talking about." It is very frustrating. I'm not asking for anything weird or gross, just more passion. I realize that he has insecurity issues regarding sex but how can I help him get past that and be more receptive to a more exciting and fun sex life with me? He is interested in sex, just not putting much effort into it.

My husband goes out sometimes and he tells me that he's going to do one thing and then he does it and then goes off and spends time with his friends or does things with them without calling me . It makes me upset because well he's told me that he never gets to go out and do things with his friends (not true - he hangs out with them every morning after he gets off of work basically and at other times too). We have a 20 month old son and although I occasioanlly get a babysitter I feel like he should be helping to take care of him too. I'd like to spend time with my husband and he works 12 hour shifts at night several days a week and then he sleeps during the day so we never really get that much time together. He tells me that I want him to spend all of his time with me and I don't I just want some. He said that if I want to talk to him that I have to come visit him where is he is at his friends because he's there fixing a truck even though I asked him to spend time with me and our son
