I despise marriage b/w a man and a woman, but support it against gays and lesbians, what do you think of that?

I think it should be allowed, if they are in love it's not hurting anyone. Everyone should quit being so out of control about it.

void? I would love that. I think marriage sucks, why would you want to commit to someone other than yourself.

After sixteen years of marriage and me opting out of a very stressful union, my husband decided that the only way he would be able to get custody of our children was to accuse me of abuse....which never got off the ground and was unfounded by our D.A.'s office...but still I am being alienated from them and he has kept them from contacting me for the last five years...I am not sure what avenues to take since I tried supervised visits which ended up in a disaster and once again ,me, being kept from them. I am hurting and afraid I have lost them for good...any advice would be appreciated

My finance and I are having problems with regards to sex. He is never in the mood for it when I am and he attributes much of it to his youth; apparently he used sex in the past as a means to feel "needed". He is from an adopted home where he says that he never felt love and never received hugs. Now that we are together, sex seems more of a task for him. He knows that I love him and cherish him, but as he has pretty much stated, sex is not all that important to him. He loves to hug and cuddle, but now that he knows that he's with someone who loves him, he doesn't feel a need for sex. I on the other hand feel and know the importance of the intimate bond and closeness that sex brings. I have brought it to his attention that he as probably developed a warp sense of what sex really means since he never place much importance on it since he has used it in the past to complete a feeling of being needed.

I think would could both benefit from sex counseling at least. Any other suggestions?

I've been with my husband for over 12 yrs. (married 11+) Now that he's filed for divorce, the house has been sold, and I'm living on my own...I just want to move on.

I see some people think that Heather Mills married Paul Mcartney for his money. How about Paul married Heather because he is a stuck up bloke with social difficulties that Heather didn't see until later in their relationship

The other night was date night for me and my boyfriend of three years. We have been living together for one year. He is very passionate about his christian beliefs and so am I. When he asked me to move in he said God had accepted us as one. we were then a unit and started working on our family with me him and my three year old daughter which he loves as his own and is proud to say he has a step daughter.

Now the other night he told me that all he wanted was for me to be faithful and a good wife. Which is who I am by nature anyway I would never stray.

He asked me if I would always be there and love him. Which I know one day one of us will pass and forever doesn't last forever. I told him I will love him as long as I am here and after that I hope that I am still in his heart.

He looked up to talk to God which we both do for guidance at times. And said the words "til death do us part" and asked if that is how I felt with a smile oon his face
what does this mean?

I wear my ring every minute of everyday. Now I did fine with women before I was married but in the two yrs I've been married vs. the 22 I wasn't I've been approached/ invited by way more women. WTF there has to be a reason. Because I havn't changed physically since I've been married (not that I'm a bad looking guy, I'm decent looking) and I dress the same way I always have (comfortably) so what is it. Because as a rule when I was single I stayed away from married women. I just don't understand and I'm tired of hearing that's just the way it is.

can someone who knows explain to me how a marriage can go from strength to strength? how do you maintain interest in each other and overcome the routine and people's faults? it seems to me that often one party takes the other for granted. what does it feel like to have a healthy stable relationship that works for both people?

I have a hard time understanding the need to act like one is single while one is claiming to want to be married. So many of my friends have husbands or long term relationships where the guy acts like he is single-not doing his part and meeting marriage commitments - like finances, raising kids, household chores etc. Maybe us girls got it backwards or do we have the wrong men?

I have nothing in common with my husband. I would go out with him and struggle to talk about something and he doesn't talk to me. We went out the other night and thank God we had other people at our table. They left to mingle and we sat there in silence. I tried to talk and bring up a good topic that he likes to talk about and nothing.
So the next night I went out with friend for a fundraiser for Breast Cancer research and I had a ball. My friends and I talked all night practically and it was awesome....

so what's up?

I told him I finally talked to a divorce lawyer the other day and he asked if I'd wait to file until he talks to one, which I said okay. Well I got served with divorce papers yesterday. Here I was trying to be nice to him and he, once again, lied which has been our entire problem - he's a pathological liar. We're still in the same house and i just need some pep talks, folks. I truly dispise this person. I guess my pride is hurt a little that he turned around and filed on me first - before I had even talked to my lawyer - but I was trying to be nice about it.
