Family - February 2007

My brother who is 17 years old not yet mature and I am 15 years old very mature and acts like adult all the time. My parents left my brother and I home alone for 7 days! I don't want to fight with him or make him mad because he is so immature! I understand i have to give him his pills and lock the doors and feed the dog but sometimes i need him to help me and he won't he gets all mad!


I don't want to have a bad time with my parents gone for 7 days ! I want him to listen to me and do what I say!

Was it because other than the spouse the rest of the family is excess baggage to be shoved down the relationship aisle by law.
Hence, father-in-law, mother-in-law etc. There are so many in-law jokes, not to speak of putting up with "in-laws"? Is it time we outlaw the in-laws with a Presidential Order, or you think the in-laws are the next best thing since sliced bread and the Second Coming of Christ. If your spouse is watching this is the time to bowl him out by cursing me and singing the praise of your in-laws. Go ahead, this question is my gift to you for VALENTINE'S DAY.

we have been dating for 4yrs and i have become good friends with his family.i hear stories about how great he was with his old gfs(sending flowers at work,boxes for cards,love letters,little romantic gifts ect)in the 4 yrs we have been dating i got flowers once(with me hinting alot) and one card for my b-day with just his name signed.why is this?i don't expect expensive gifts just something to let me know hes thinking about me when i'm not with him.i do it to him all the time.i know some guys just don't do stuff like that but he allways did for his other gfs so whay not me?

I have a 18 yr old son. He wants to come home. However, I am skeptical on letting him come back. He has stolen from me in the past. The last time I let him come back was a month ago. He stole some things from my boyfriend. Which he is more understanding than I am. Yet, he also stole a bracelet from me. Which I later found out that he gave it to his girlfriend. He is not on drugs(This I am sure of) I just don't understand his taking from me or others. If there is anything that he need or want I would give it to him. Now he wants to come and I do not just trust him. I have not told him that I do not want him back in my home because of his stealing. But I love my son and I do not want him to think that I do not love him but I just can't deal with the stealing. My heart is breaking over this situation.

I am the youngest in a family of nine children. 5 brothers and 4 sisters. I love my sisters....my brothers & family. Some people don't have sisters and for some, that's all they have (no brothers). My hubby doesn't have sisters (has 2 brothers) - well, he has a half-sister but he doesn't associate with her (his Dad had an affair on his Mom to make this happen). He's clueless when it comes to sisters.

ok im not talking to my mom any more cuz i have gave her sooo many chances to make things better between us and she gets worse every time so i am donetrying and my dad knows it and he understands why i am so close with my dad but me n my mom just dont click we never have and we never will so is it wrong to not talk to her any more.. cuz when i do it ends in yelling and screaming and i cant take the stress any more sooooo is it the right thing to do????????

I separated from his father when he was four, his father has never really supported him or his younger brother who is 16 financially, never paid maintenance and has not even bothered when they have been sick. My son is in Uni now and is fed up that I am the only one helping him financially with his studies and also he told me that he is gay and I have accepted him with open arms as my love for my sons is unconditional no matter what but his dad has not taken it well at all. He has even stopped contact with him but not my younger son, this has hurt him a lot. Do you think it is right for my son to change his surname? He wants to have my maiden name.

Is not standing up and being a man and taking responsibility in his real children's life and keeping in touch with them and paying child support for them is child abuse in your opinion? Are there any victims of that type? I was. Is it important for that person to be in that child's life on a regular basis even if the mom remarries or in a relationship with someone else? I'm trying to figure out if how my dad treated me is what made me shy or shyer. Be specific. I was scared to death of my dad, he yelled alot, he would get in my face and not let me go 'till I answered to his satisfaction, he spanked us when little and after threatened with violence. He made problems out of nothing. I heard that if a girl doesn't feel good in her own home she won't feel good about herself, I guess this applies to boys too. So I imagine that's where my parent's constantly fighting fits in. He did care about us but he was too strict so actions spoke louder than words. Let me know if you are male or female.

I have a 57% in math and a 65% in English...Those classes are so hard to me!!! SOOO, my parents are angry at me b/c i failed 2 quarters. In order for me to pass I have to make an 80% or higher in both classes!!! Now, my parents won't even let me talk to my boyfriend.
When I got home my mother had a conference w/ my teachers, my mother went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on AND ON!!!! So, I tried to keep the peace by going in my room and w/ out her knowing...She heard me talking under my breath and came in my room...She then began to go on and on and on and on and on...She left the room, and I sat on my bed dissapointed in myself and angry and CONFUSED. She came back in the room, and started again, and i was already ANGRY...I didn't feel like n e one else so she was like clean up this room NOW! I started snatching stuff and threw some stuff on my bed, and it just so happend my radio got thrown on the floor in my anger. She called my dad and he is coming HOME! AHHHH

yesterday i asked my mom to go get my movie (well a friends movie i was supposed to watch it before i gave it back long different story) from a friends house and then my sister asked my mom to go and get pop sicles so my mom goes and gets pop sicles. and my mom totally just starts ignoring me and im like thats so not fair and i start crying (im only 13 and im going threw emotional stuff) and like my mom came in and started yelling at me for crying and she said "i do everything for you and i do one thing for your sister, the world doesnt revolve around you" and me being who i am asks " really? whayt have you done for me?" then she names 2 things (which was take me to a school concert which i was in so i had to go so i didnt fail) and like yea so im i like being selfish?

My husband has a business and he is happy here and so are the kids. the 11 and 12 year olds would move but the 14 year old would be upset. Dads in remission and my mom is ok but getting old. My brother lives close and is the caregiver but his wife is maybe getting a little upset inside that we have this great life in Dubai and she is feeling maybe they would be the ones to help why we are so called having this nice marriage and family here with alot of nice benefits here. We are happy here but Dave is working really hard. I am epileptic . I dont even drive. Everything is really nice but then Dad got cancer at 80. I feel soooo guilty that I am not there in calif. to help everyday. I just got back from being with them on a 2 week visit. I left my family and did it with my familys support. Dave said I can visit back and forth. Its kind of expensive., but its my Dad and he only has maybe a little time.I feel I should go pretty soon again in a month and help. I cant think of anything else

Shes 17 and 6 months pregnant and recently got engaged and planning on getting married this summer but everyone thinks shes moving way too fast but she thinks she knows best.
Her and her fiance have a apartment and two cars but a babys coming along and he dont make a lot of money and now there thinking of getting rid of both of the cars and getting a new one and they seem to have everything and somewhere in all this I'm jelouse cause I feel that its not fear shes getting the perfect family but I'm not and everything is about her and her baby and her life and I feel very left out like no one cares about me because now everyone in the family is helping her out and buying her clothes and baby stuff and stuff for her apartment they seem to have the money and shes sooooooooo spoiled and I'm not noticed like everything is about her and I'm invisible and sucks living under her feet like shes queen!!!!!!!

were said and you found out, would one be justified in cutting off all contact. Please note that they have done a lot of awful things to me and I keep going around them and trying to forgive, but yesterday was the final straw. They are too mean and I feel I hate them and never wish to see them. I always am the one trying and I'm tired of what they do. I feel I should not do this as Jesus said turn the other cheek.
