My step daughter who is only 14 and lives with her mother keeps turning up at the weekends at 11pm drunk and usually noisy, crying or in some kind of drama. Her father, my husband, doesn't want any more to do with her and just ignores her when she arrives. I usually deal with her but on Saturday, I told her off yet again for her drinking and I wouldn't give her a ciggie so she stormed out of the house and kicked my car a couple of times causing some scrapes and cracks.. Her dad hasn't made any particular comment about it but I am very upset. There is a history of tantrums from her and as its me that deals with her when she is in a state, then its also me who gets the nonsense when she is angry. I love her to bits but I feel she is out of control. Her mother is clearly not interested as she just lets her out every weekend with lots of money and we get met with abuse if we try and speak to the woman. I am at a loss - how do I help my stepdaughter to see whats she is doing is wrong

Hubby and I always get into stupid little spats about meaningless things that we wouldn't argue about otherwise when we are both really overtired or stressed. This doesn't happen often, I was just wondering if other people have this problem and do you have ways that you found works to solve/avoid it?

Surely the deal was that once women shared the breadwinning burden an equal and opposite 'hand' would be given in the low status/montonous/unpaid labour that necessarily has to be expended at home!?

Yet recent stats show that women (on average) when paid/unpaid work is taken into consideration still do an average 19 hours more work compared to her male counterpart.. with part-time women workers more likely to be expending labour excessively on all fronts..

Obviously there will be exceptions on an individual level but I just wondered WHY some women suffer having to do it all whilst their husband/boyfriend goes out or puts his feet up?

My ex boyfriend got me fired from my job, and got me kicked out of my house, and threatened to kill me. I had no where to live and no money and a small child. I asked my mom if I could stay with her for a while and she said no. Then later she saw my boyfriend and she talked to him gave him some presents and gave him my new phone number and told him to call me, which he did and I was very upset. Why would she do that?

When i was growing up from the age of i think 15, my dad used to ask me to **** him off... it all started when we were sitting in the front room and as we were very close i used to sit with him and give him a cuddle, i think he said something mean and to be nasty i think i flicked him on the groin area. i cant really remember how it progressed from there but it turned out that he would say to be that he would buy me whatever i wanted if i did. i think i should have known at that age it was wrong but i thought i would have got told off or he would have gone into one of his moods. we were always close but i htink that may have been because i was scared of not being so. as i grew up my dad would be very violent towards me and that was from a very very young age. i used to go into school saying i was mugged from the bruising and cuts. it turned out in the end that he told me to take my knickers off and lay on the bed, he didnt insert himself but put his penis between my legs and told me to

My late husband and I have had my gr. nephew living with us practically since birth. His father was in the military and we did receive two years of child support. I also had legal custody of this child. When the father came out of the military he received legal physical custody. However, the child still lived with me and with practically no child support and then the loss of my husband I have provided a home and everything necessary for this child whom I deeply love to have a safe environment both here and at school. The father from time to time gives me some money and now takes the boy on Wed., and Thurs. and brings him back on Friday. I have claimed this child on taxes as he lives here and I almost completely support him. The father did ask if I was going to claim him and I said, "Yes." He also found out he can get money through the child's mother who is on disability, but if the child did not live with him during the time he is claiming, can he?

My father passed away a year ago and my oldest sister is named the executrix of the estate. My brother is living in the house as he came back to live with my parents 14 years ago when he was at his lowest point in his life. But the problem now is that we want to get on with things but since he is living there he seems to be taking over the whole house with all of his "stuff" everywhere. We keep talking about cleaning up his things and put whatever he wants in storage but he doesn't seem to want to. He is acting like he is so entitled to everything there. He just started to pay the bills there since Sept and all the time my parents were alive he didn't contribute at all. What are our options if my sister (the executrix) doesn't follow through with things and what can we do about getting my brother to move his things out so we can get on with the sale of the house? We don't want to kick him out but that looks like we might have to. My sister says she will quit as the executrix if

I saw similar questions on here, but my Brother and I were born on the same day, at the exact same time, and exactly one year apart!! Isn't that weird?? I am sure the odds of all of that coinciding exactly have to be astronomical!! His first birthday present was me!!! Someone told me once that there was a name for this- some kind of twins, but I don't rememeber what it was. any Idea?

I have two kids a husband with two jobs, I also have two jobs and only one car. My mom takes care of my kids and every time I ask her to watch the kids a little longer she always gives me an attitude. I never ask her to keep them so my husband and I could do something just the two of us. Like for example today I need to get some erands done before I need to get my husband back to work and it's just easier for my mom to keep the kids. When I told her she just said "Fine, whatever".
I don't know what to do, I need her help but at the same time I wish I could just find another person to watch my kids.
