I want a computer in my room really badly. I tell her that I won't go on bad websites or I won't watch bad things. She says she doesn't wnat me to have one. Same with a cell. She says i don't need one. Are there any reasons I could say to convince her to get me at least one of the two things I want. Any good reasons out there?

your mother said no for valid reasons. you are being selfish and spoiled thinking you ""NEED"" these things just because everyone else has them.
Obviously your mother does not trust you enough to have a computer in your room and FOR GOOD REASON!!!!!
when you are old enough to get a job and buy it yourself, then you might understand a bit better how your mom feels

Wanting and needing are two different things. Parents are only required to provide you the things that you need. Those things are clothing, food a roof over your head and a good parent will help build character in you. Do you think that you would have much character or pride if you were given everything you wanted. Learn to accept no for an answer in order to be able to appreciate things when you do get them. As a mother myself, I know that your mother knows you better than anyone else, so therefore probably has very good reason to be telling you no. Now go give your mom a hug and thank her for not spoiling you. You'll end up being a much better adult for it.

Well, first off, how old are you? Because if you're very young, for sure she doesn't see the need of you having either of it yet. What is the real reason that you want it? Is it because of social influence (friends, cousin etc)? Maybe you also need to understand the family's financial situation at the moment. If you're old enough right now, you could probably find a part time job, save your own money, and buy it yourself. Not only will you get what you want, but this will also teach you about responsibility, and people will respect you more, when you buy things using your own money instead of being dependant on parents or elders.

it like this there is no reason you should need a computer with Internet access in your room if your doing what you say your are on it then doing it in front of the whole family should not be a big deal a computer with no Internet access for school work maybe fine if there are other people working on it when you might need it but in the end the Internet is a dangerous place and it may not be you who is the problem as much as its all the people who are out there looking for someone to hurt so as hard as this is its for the best also she may consider the disneymobile program its a good plan that allows her to do several things like give you minutes so if you go over your out of luck the phone shuts down and also she can turn it off and on when she feels you need it so she can turn it off when your at school or after 9:00 or during homework time it also works like a gps so she can see where you are at all the time so you will get the phone but more on terms she maybe able to live with again not as much freedom as you would like but not to much rope that you can hang your self with!

If your mom is a police officer, it is none of your business. Your dad should talk about this alone with her. Or you can tell your dad to get a secret cell phone in a friends name. His friend can call her and you can all find out what is going on. Maybe she is a private PI.

Tell her that the phone would only be for emergencies or little things like checking up with who you're going home with or whatever, and make sure she knows you won't blab all the time on your phone.
For the computer, I dont know, maybe you can save up your allownace and get one with your own money? Good luck.

Well tell her that you want it to contact her. And for the computer... just tell her what you told all of us. If you brothers are on it all of the time ask her for just a little cheap one for your desk or something. Hope you get one!
