Tonight my family came over for supper..well my sister spent the entire time crying and whining about her life (which mind u is just fine) later on she wanted to take my daughter and I out for lunch but i just don't want to go because i can't be around my sister when she is like that ...she drains me (if you read one of my first questions u will see the problem i have with her) but i feel guilty like i need to go out and chill with her to make her happy...she is looking for something to do and i am not..i am toilet training a 3 year old who does not behave well in restaurants...also at that time is when i talk to my hubby in Iraq on instant messenger....if i miss that then he is sleeping and i always feel like every moment with him is a blessing...but why do i feel guilty.....? i always feel like i need to make my sister happy...but i am so tired so overwhelmed...i just want to turn off the phone and hide under the covers???

When I had my car, many of my family members would tell me, "Let me use your car." & they drive it without even filling the gas tank back up-& they use ALL my gas. Now that I don't have a car anymore, I ask to use their car, & even OFFER to pay them gas $, & they still tell me, "Hell no!"

I just found out that my mother is getting married 2morrow. Am her first born child and am tha one she comes running 2 when this man beats her and leave there home for weeks. It just upset me and breaks my heart because she didn't even try 2 tell me that she was getting married and we talk just about every other day. I know I can't run her life but am seriously scared 4 her. What would you guys do if you was living in my shoes????

Here's the thing, I think I am addicted to alcohol, and weed! I want to tell my hubby but not sure how to! I need help! When I dont have the 2 I try my hardest to take anything I can to get buzzed or whatever! I have tore my house apart lookin for stuff anything! I was once addicted to an opiate, I do now have sleeping pills I got from somone! Those r great! I am not proud of myself! I am afraid my hubby would leave me! I knwo I need help but not sure how to do that! What should I do? My life is headed downwards, i cant stop on my own!

This guy and I have been seeing each other for a a couple of months.
However, I think my family has a problem with the age differences. And, I'm very angry about this. I'm in my early twenties and he is in his early thirties. I really like this guy.I think my family should mind their own business. Can anyone provide me with any useful advice?

The boys are 2 and 3. Currently my 21 year old daughter, aunt to the boys, has temporary custody but obviously it isn't fair for her to do this long term, as she is newly married and has no kids of her own. CPS is involved and there is a criminal case of child endangerment against my 22 year old daughter and her boyfriend. We don't know yet whether parental rights are going to be terminated or not, everything is in the investigation stage.
There were two separate incidents with a week or so of each other that CPS is investigating. No drugs or alcohol involved, just a lot of carelessness and IMO, laziness involved.
This isn't a laughing matter. Serious comments only, please.

Need suggestions for a 17-yr-old guy. He is bored at home much of the time. Has few friends due to being shy - - - - he has no license or transportation to go anywhere he wants. He does have a job, but isn't allowed to work during school nights. Has no Internet, but has a computer.

He has never had a dad. His mom is single, but she doesn't spend any time with him. He has a girlfriend, but doesn't want to depend on her all the time to get him out of the house. Besides, sometimes his gf needs some time out with just the girls.

Also, it is a very small town - - - no movie theatre, no YMCA, no park . . . . NOTHING. Have any creative ideas or ideas for a hobby? (Please, no stupid answers) Thanks!!!

Back in the day you did not dare look at your parents in the wrong way or you would get a swift kick in the butt! Now people send Timmy to a corner, OH BROTHER!!! If you don't take charge of your kids when they are toddlers, you will be screwed later. To each his own I guess but that is one of the reasons I do not like kids in my new house, parents just have no control over them! Yes, I have a son and he is now 19, never had that problem with him and neither does anyone in my family with their kids. Was just watching Nanny 911 and can't believe what these kids are like. These parents are wimps in my book! A good spanking never killed anyone!

When you know you child has a boyfriend or girlfriend do you feel no shame? You know your child is going off to do sinful things and you don't try to stop it? You don't care about your childs purity? You know boyfriends and girlfriends xperiment witth sex and the rate of teenege pregnancy and STDs are high. How do you decide to let your child go out and do these things? How do you decide it ok for your child to have a girlfriend or boyfriend? Do you honestly think you child is capable of a commited long term relationship at the age of 16 or younger? I am just curious to know parents opinions.


I never dated. It is not allowed in my religion. As far as trusting your kids and having taught them right from wrong, it apparently doesn't work becasue if it did there wouldn't be so many STDs and pregnancies. I asked this question becasue my sister is in high school and she told me they have a 'mommy club' that meets after school becasue of all of the teen moms. I was shocked at this!

I am 29 and my mum still thinks she can tell me how to live. She tells me how to raise my kids, what i can and can't spend my money on, what jobs i should or shouldn't do, the list goes on and on. I just say yes mum then do whatever i want anyway but then she expects me to justify my choices and explain why i didnt do it her way. Im just so sick of it. How do i tell her to let go.

MY PARENTS NEED HELP!!! THEY KEEP ARGUING BCUS MY STEP FATHER IS NOT TAKIN MY MOM OUT AND NOT APPRECIATING THE THINGS SHE DOES... I was wondering how can you overcome your fear of a person? I'm asking this becasue in 2 more weeks, my step-Mom is marrying a real jerk. And I don't know why I do, but I have this huge fear of him. I know I shouldn't fear my soon to be step-dad, but I do. My step-Mom, him, and I have spent some time together but some of the stuff he says and some of the things he does put the fear in me. (he'll say something rude to my step-Mom(and she's still marrying him!) and he drinks some which sometimes can get a little out of control). So, how do you overcome your fear of someone? More so your Dad or step-dad? Thank you.

my mom is very over protective and it really erks me. i feel trapped i cant do anything. i cant date, have a cell phone, spend the night over friends house, go to parties. basicly i cant do the things normal teens do i just feel trapped. i try to talk to her all the time but its seems like she just doesnt care about how i feel. i dont wanna have to wait until im grown to experience the things of a teen. im tired of tryin to convince her to give me freedom its just not working so if you can give me some ideas of what i can do to make her let me do the things i want i would appreciate it thanks!

My mom is out of town right now and she called this morning and said my uncel has the worst cancer you can get, and there is no cure. I justed reccived news that he hass 3-6 months to live. I am really upset because I care about him so much, and I don't even get to say goodbye and my mom does. What should I do?

I thought this would be a great place to ask.

I'm working on a novel, and plan to have a scene where a 22 year-old girl has an argument with her dad, then goes to talk to her 25 year-old brother, in tears. He's already in bed, but invites her to stay in his bed for the night (large bed... no touching), and they talk a while.

I guess I have 2 questions:

1) If you read/watched a scene like this, would it bother you, or make you say, "'The heck?"
2) Would you be bothered to hear about a brother/sister of opposite sex in bed in general (nothing sexual or romantic - just as a normal thing)?

I'm going for completely natural here, but unsure of reader response. Thanks. :-)
