When you know you child has a boyfriend or girlfriend do you feel no shame? You know your child is going off to do sinful things and you don't try to stop it? You don't care about your childs purity? You know boyfriends and girlfriends xperiment witth sex and the rate of teenege pregnancy and STDs are high. How do you decide to let your child go out and do these things? How do you decide it ok for your child to have a girlfriend or boyfriend? Do you honestly think you child is capable of a commited long term relationship at the age of 16 or younger? I am just curious to know parents opinions.

I never dated. It is not allowed in my religion. As far as trusting your kids and having taught them right from wrong, it apparently doesn't work becasue if it did there wouldn't be so many STDs and pregnancies. I asked this question becasue my sister is in high school and she told me they have a 'mommy club' that meets after school becasue of all of the teen moms. I was shocked at this!

My point is that the school should not even have a reason to use teir funds that could possibly be going to new books or other educational supplies if the teens didn't have kids before they are even ready to handle them. They are kids with kids. They haven't even finished their education and they have played around and made a life that they don't know how to take care of.

And dating isn't neccessary in marriage. If the arents are involved in the engagement procedures, a proper spouse would be found.

i have an 18 year old who i know is sexually active, i have a 17 year old who isn't. and no i DO NOT feel any shame that my son is in a relationship.(sexual or not) your sense of how the world works today is screwed up. not dating is a sure way of ending up with the wrong person. having a terrible marriage and ending up divorced or dead because you really didn't know the guy and he was abusive.
i beleive in talking openly about sex and its consequences to my teens. i beleive its better for them to know then to go out there with no knowledge of how things work in the world around them.
i feel its a great oversight on your part to judge every teen by a few girls that have gotten pregnant or by the drug addicts and prostitutes who spread std's.
i don't know where you live but i beleive you are sadly behind the times to be shocked at anything that happens anymore.
i personally applaud the school for trying to educate these mothers so that they can raise these children in a good home.

I'm not a parent, but i'm 14, but i need to say is that, since my parents restrict it, it makes me feel like what i do is limited, but i'm still going out with this guy. But yeah, they do have shame, but i won't do anything. Just tell your kids you trust them, and make them comfortable to tell you guys everything. Like my parents, i can't stand talking to them, it pretty started with other things, but really, give us some space, and trust us. The guilt will get to us and we'll stop if you raised us right.

But really, i say it would be better if schools teach us these things since like 7th grade or even 6th so it can stick to us.

okay, first of all, those ''mommy clubs'' are supposed to help the teens.not so they can have sex and fun.if u think this is wrong, tell them.you never dated, you never knew how all that stuff happens.they meet after school to teach them about parenting and schoolwork...i cant believe your into their business.if u think im wrong ,i dont really care.its my opinion.
i understand that its apart of your reiligion not to date anyone but im not going against u.

Just because you child has a bf or a gf doesn't mean that they're doing the nasty.
