This isn't that uncommon, my dad didn't have a will, but the next of kin always inherits unless there is some unscrupulous idiot trying to state they were your dad's lover or some such baloney. You have to get his death certificate, send it to his insurance company and pay for the funeral and any other outstanding expenses. You will automatically own the land unless their is a lien on it. Contact an atty or go to the court house.

First of all I just wanted to say I'm sorry about your father. But honestly, I would talk to a professional about that because allot of the people on yahoo answers don't know what they're talking about.
