How many days before a custody court hearing are you to be notified in New York State? I live in Tennessee and I was notified by my lawyer via a phone call that there was an order to show cause hearing for the next day, I did not receive anything in the mail. My son's father made up a story that my son was in an unsafe enviroment, and they ordered me to bring my son up to the state within 10 days, I had nothing signed by a judge and personally delivered to me or mailed to me. I came up here anyways, and now have sat for 5 weeks with no income, staying at my parents house with my son, the court hearing was supposed to be for Feb. 16th, My lawyer called me on Feb. 15th, and thought I knew that the court hearing had been postponed until March 29th, due to the fact the my son's lawyer had a conflict with his schedule. My lawyer was supposed to call me back on Friday, to let me know if I am allowed to return home until then. But of course has not called me back.

Well this is pretty hard to say but my brother and i were sitting on the couch when he started moving his hand towards mine and I thought it was me but he then wanted to hold my hand. I let him. after a few minutes of my brothe holding my hand he then started rubbing my butt, back, top of my leg and playing with my hair. My younger brothers and my parents were out and he is 2 years older then me. He actaully fingered me. i couldn't belive it, but i didn't stop him. I let him keep going. now i feel like there is something i should do. Also we are going to a concert toghether. Please help me figure this out.

I am setting aside a set sum of money each week, which will accumulate to be enough for a down payment on a house in 2 years. I'll be 21. When did you get your first house? And do you think it's wise for a single 21 year old to buy her own house or keep saving until she has someone to share it with?

they ruled it out as suicide. He was shot with a 12 gauge shotgun, his body was found in a church parking lot and their was no blood around him and the thing that bothers me is the gun was at least 10 feet away from him. one other thing that made them think suicide was he left a couple of letters stating that he was tired of his wife, they were seperated. and that he was playing a song in his truck called when a man loves a woman. He had recently gotten saved had two kids and quit drinking. he wasn't drinking then either. something doesn't sound right. his wife at that time had been married 2 to other people and her second husband was killed a little bit before this happened. My mom and dad went to her house a little while after the death and she told them that he was haunting her. she seen his ghost and when we see her up in town she acts scared. The county we live in will not investiagate things just rule them out. Please tell me what you think about this.

It's a typical complaint, I know. But we moved 100 miles away to give us a nice buffer zone from our parents and yet, my husband's parents come over at least once a week! Half the time they don't even call before. Sometimes bringing over other family members without telling us. I would understand if we lived in the same city but there's no excuse for a 100 mile difference. They are driving me absolutely mad. How can we tell them that we need some space?

My sister is getting married in a couple of weeks. We have had some problems with our dad in the past - he doesn't really want anything to do with us because we decided to live with our fiances before we got married, among other things. He's going to be at the wedding, but he's not happy about it. Everytime the subject comes up he talks about how it's nothing to celebrate, that there's no point in it. Many other people we know have this attitude about her wedding (as well as my upcoming one).

This will be the one time in my sister's life when she gets married (hopefully), and I don't want her to have such negative memories when she looks back on the occasion. I have shown enthusiasm in helping with the decorations, trying on bridesmaids' dresses, etc., but my attempts to lighten the mood haven't done any good. I know I can't change what my family thinks, but how can I make this a more positive experience for her when everyone else's attitude is so negative?

I'm 17 years old, as is my boyfriend. When he was f4, his mom was in a serious accident and has had no use of her right arm and has trouble with her legs. His dad left them when he was very little and wants nothing to do with them. My boyfriend has spent his whole life taking care of his mom and younger sister. Along with his mom's physical disability, she also has a problem spending ridiculous amounts of money on useless things in magazines and on T.V. So they are also in a great deal of debt while their house is covered in little Asian statues and every benie baby on the planet. My boyfriend just couldn't take it anymore so he lives with me now. Last week his mom took a nasty fall and broke 3 bones (including her good arm) Now she's in the hospital for at least another month and the bills haven't been paid in months. My boyfriend is so stressed b/c he feels he must pay the bills. I just don't know what to do. He's 17, this isn't his problem. But what can we do?

My dad is always very nosy when it comes to "what I do." I am almost 18 and I am sick of it. He is angry because I might go out with someone who is a bit older than I am. It never bothered him before when I dated older guys. I know my dad worries a lot but he really has nothing to worry about. He doesn't even have a job. MY mom supports him. I just want him to be happy that I am happy.

I am mother and I would hate the fact that my man is not taking care of his own kids but help support mine, that is absolutely crazy. THis man that owes not only me child support but owes another woman, over $ 42,000.00 that he owes. Do you want to know what hes gotten out of it. Last yr,or so,he spent 6 mos. in prison. My son is 14. This is his 1st born and only son....WHAT A MAN!!!!!! We just found out he moved to Harrisburg??????? He may be moving to Florida,so now what...will the other mother and I ever see any money? I doubt it very much. This man has never filed taxes, so where is the irs in this matter. He just moved from MCarthur,Oh, a few miles from his own son,and for another woman and her kids. His name is JOSHUA HAMMONS>>2 kids of his own,a son who should be his namesake, but since he isnt worthy enough his son will never carry on his name. To any one reading this,if you know him let him know his son does not want anyting to do with him.

Ok, my father died over christmas. My grandmother is in the hospital for the fifth time this year and my significant other just left me.. I know I am being hard to deal with right now because of all of this and I can see myself being depressed and probably annoying to other people but I can't seem to bring myself out of it.
I've tried counselors and talking to my brother but he's going through the same thing and has even more stress to deal with than I do.
I can only have fun when I go out with a group of people and drink unfortunately, although I definitely don't have a drinking problem It's definitely something I turn to right now.

My family is uber disfunctional and I can see them being very selfish right now, so I don't want to bring my drama to my mother because I want to be strong for her, because I know it's worse on her,,, but seriously why is all this happening at once??!?!?
I am sending this out into the internet because typing it just makes me feel better.

I know this is awful, but I really try to like her. I try to have conversations with her but she is so distant and just gives "mm-hmmm" as an answer for everything.
She disapproves of pretty much everything I do, even though I put myself through university.
I am embarrassed at how simple she is. She kicked me out halfway through my a levels because she thought I should get a proper job and not more education.
She has an over-simplified view of everything.
We were at an airport and we needed to check in, I was telling her we were late and we'd better go into the departure lounge, she told me not to be stupid and that the plane would wait. She was in duty free and buying alcohol. She shouted at me in front of everyone! sayin I have an attitude problem! I am 24. We were in Paris and she wanted to buy wine, there were no shops open so she bought a can of super-strength lager from an off-licence. She gets nasty when she hasn't had a drink.
Do girls turn into their mothers? :-(

I am a single dad to 4 teen-age boys. Let me state the obvious: I love them all and I want to see them happy and healthy.
The oldest is 19 and the youngest is 16.
They don’t have any consideration to the house they live in, their brothers and me.
I tried to involve them in house work but they are not interested what so ever to follow ‘the rules’. Every day after a long day in work, I came back home to find that none of them did what they were supposed to…
They only want to do what they want to do: smoke and play PC games all day long … then partying in the night.
They are not very much interested in work or school.
If you have any serious advice, I would be very grateful.
