It depends on what the teenager was like when s/he was in the house. (By the way, you're responsible for a child until 18, so I assume you aren't kicking out somebody younger,)
I know a young man who created such chaos at home that he was removed and put into "placement" at age 16. Though the siblings missed him, they were better off with him out of the house. They were able to get some attention for themselves, and were not constantly bombarded with craziness.

Has a huge effect. So, what happened that caused this teenager to get kicked out (or at least be worried about it?)
Siblings don't want to see another leave until they are ready to leave on their own (unless the teenager in question is making life miserable for everyone). It is disruptive. If you are that teenager, consider the grief you are causing to make someone want to kick you out in the first place, then consider how it makes the siblings feel. There are no winners, here.

You can't leagally kick your kid out until he's 18. But we called the cops on our 15 (at the time) and our kids were greatful. He was very disrespectful then and threatened his siblings.2 years later he's joined the family and is doing good.

Depends a lot on their age, but if' they're 18 then it's time to get out anyway!
