They were divorced only 6 months after being married. He is not only physically but verbally abusive. I have tried to just let it go but it consumes my thoughts. I have recently been reading about positive thinking and laws of attraction but I just can't seem to turn this negative into a positive situation. Any ideas?

See if she will go into counseling. Try talking to her, and tell her that God has better things in store for her, she does not have to take any one putting her down, and not treating her like properly. Tell her she owes it to her self, to be treated good, and like a lady, she need to read books on self esteem, and she should want more out of life for herself. Tell her she is the one, who has to want more for herself. And do what she has to do to get it. Tell her you are afraid for her, and to please get help!

Tell your daughter that you love her dearly and want her to have a life that is free from abuse of any kind because she deserves a good and happy life. Love is not supposed to hurt so obviously she is not held precious and dear in the sight of this man who continues to mistreat her. Advise her to seek professional help ASAP because things will only elevate in the wrong way unless she learns to care enough about herself to command respect and right treatment by anyone and everyone involved in her life. Finally, your daughter must be the one to take action for her own sake because you cannot do it for her.

I have a daughter and if anyone ever dared to hurt her......!!!

As for you, while positive thinking is a good thing to do it is not always possible when reality keeps slapping you in the face.
