I'm guessing this is an 'overnight' trip?

I wouldn’t let my 17-year-old do it either. Why? Because I was 17 once. Let’s see…in Florida with a group of friends and no parents in sight=PARTY! and everything that goes along with it.

Sorry, kiddo, Dad’s probably not going to budge on this. But you can keep trying.

The good news is…next year when you turn 18 you can go!

Welllll, i think ur father knows u better then u thought. Why would u want to lie to him? Do u realize that once u did go and u know u lied to ur father that maybe u would have a crappy time there knowing this? Come on now, ur father loves u. (or maybe he knows u so well that he cant trust u.) Start now by letting him trust u and maybe next time he will let u go.

I guess he was right to trust his instinct (you lied, remember?) Who's going to pay for it anyway? Him? Unless you come out with your own money, I don't think he's gonna change his mind. When you lie, it's already the first sign showing that you're not trustworthy. If I were him, I'd make the same decision too. Sorry. Plus, you know how expensive it is to go there?

If by adult, you mean 18 yrs. old. they are a young version of adult. Be honest with your dad. Why not ask him to come along with, and chaperone? It's better to be safe than sorry. I wish you the best. Take care.
