my father has always been a drifter but lately he just doesn't know what he is doing, he is moving from place to place and doesn't know where he is going next, he is not in any kind of relationship and he is becoming a burden to his children by interfering into their lives, any ideas on how to deal with him?

Sounds like he's really lonely. Try to get him involved in things. There are really good senior centers with lots of activities (assuming he's retirement age). Also, many areas have community centers with classes, sports activities, and clubs. It would be well worth the time to help him find some diversion.

Tell Dad to respect your wishes and to shape up or ship out. No hard feelings but Dad needs to get a life and set a respectable example for his children.

Whatever feels right to you! You are the mother and you know what's fair! Does he love his children or does he just want Them To Love Him? Keep your mind on being fair. You remind me of someone. Hmmmmm. Good Luck! @8-)

Just don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed. Hopefully you have others in your life that have been good father figures for you.
