Growing up I always had a roof over my head and food on the table but I think my parents were horrible paretns, and frankly they were. My mother and her long time boyfriend smoked pot in front of my 2 brothers and I but urged us to go to church, make good grades and excell in everything we did. My younger brother is now 15 and wants to move out of the house. I moved out at 18 and my older brother moved out at 17. My younger brother wants to move in wiht my husband and I when he turns 16. I agree that his situation is not as bad as it use to be. My husband I have no room for him in our house and are working full time and going to school. What are we suppose to do in this situation? We have no family in this area either.

My father in law moved in with my husband, brother in law, our infant daughter and I in June (6 months ago) as I assumed was a Temp situation. I cant stand him anymore, He causes fights between my husband and I, he disregards rules we make for our daughter, He tells me that our parenting technique is wrong (but doesnt' say anything to my husband), he goes through our mail and phone messages, He has caused problems between our naighbors (whom I am very good friends with) and him self. He works full time making pretty good money and doesn't pay rent or gives us money for food, bills ect. I really want him out of my house and to stop freeloading off of us, But my husband doesn't understand, and doesn't want to kick out family... HELP ME... tell me what i can do to either get my husband to understand, or to kick out my father in law.

I know she has started menopause and I understand that it is very uncomfortable. Having been pregnant recently I am sympathetic to her having mood swings, hot-flashes, physical discomfort, but it is as if she is a totally different person. We have always been close and she has always been a very sweet, loving, caring, and giving mother. We live in different states but we e-mail each other all the time and call fequently. Lately she has been criticizing me constantly and has even been criticizing my 11 yr old daughter. I have backed-off quite a bit from calling her because I don't want to further irritate her but then she calls me and is ANGRY because I haven't called! I love my mother very much and would never intentionally hurt her but she doesn't seem to stop insulting me lately. Could this be menopause? I know it can last for years, will I ever get my real mother back?
Has anyone else gone through this with their mother? And how did she/the family cope?

She's 10 years old. She is mature 70%.I don't know if it's time. She always talks about it and she is trying to prove to me how mature she is. She says other people go to the movies with her friends alone. When did you alow your daughter/son to go to movies with friends alone? Is 70% mature enough? Is she old enough?

I believe my son deserves to have me, his dad, in his life everyday. I am currently into a visitation lawsuit which has cost me over $10K. (She is fighting very hard) His mother says "I don't want to be with someone I treated as poorly as you." Has anyone else had a similiar situation and how has the child reacted? Or were you the child who had one parent who loved the other and one who hated?... I want to be the one who loves..

I am a 29 yrs old software developer that travel too much for my job and I love my job too much to quit. But I am a single dad and my daughter is 3 months old. I have no relatives so I pay a lot of money to have my bestfriend's wife watching her. The money is not an issue at all; the fact that I am always away from my baby kills me

I had a job at McDonald's, but all the nice managers quit, and the one that was left was REALLY mean to me, so I quit. I can't afford to attend school right now, but I want to some day. First I have to make money, but I'm kind of afraid to get another job. I didn't really learn anything at McDonald's, because they didn't think I was fast enough to use the till. I don't know where I should work...

Am I pathetic? Sometimes I feel like hanging myself. D:

Where are the brilliantly written Looney Tunes? Where are the Spider-man cartoons? But really, what do kids have to watch today? Adult Swim is great but not as deeply moving as Batman: The Animated Series. I remember getting teary-eyed from that show as a kid. Some of those episode were tragic.

dad,my X & I split when I realized he was using drugs & ultimately he went to prison. My son was 1 yr when this happened.I left him & have been with the same man since Ricky was 2 & in the same home, stable & good life.Throughout my sons life his dad was in & out of prison, in & out of his life. We found out he was dying of HepC just 2 years before he died. His father tried to spend every last minute w/ him and I think spoiling him. He died 2 years ago when my son was 9. He has been going to counciling for over 4 years now (not helping). He is almost never happy, he acts angry, he's rude, he's unappreciative, he throws things, cusses me out, doesn't do well in school (his IQ is 138). He has called the police on me when I have spanked him-police said if I touch him I go to jaiI! Stopped spanking/alternate dicipline.Have 6 kids, he's the only 1 that acts this way. At times he'll be Mr.Perfect & loving-but he's mostly mean & unhappy-I am so lost and frustrated! Heartbroken too.Help?

I have a twin, her name is CD, short for Celebration Destiny, my name is CJ, short for Celebration Jubilee (Born on same day) but I'm a few seconds older. I have twin little sisters (Look like me and look like eachother, born on same day as eachother and me and my twin) I have a 4 year bigger sister who looks like me. I have a brother, we don't look alike but we think the same, he looks like my other big brother. My mom is a twin and my aunt is a twin. I have a 1 year bigger sister who looks like me and my twin (Same height).
Me, my twin and my 1 year bigger sister, Amy, like the same things and do a lot of the same things (Not at the same time a lot) but at dinner, we always seem to drink at the same time.

I'm my fathers illegitimate daughter (he has 6 boys with his wife), when I was 3 my Dad left G. He never paid childsupport and we had no contact. When I was 18 I startet to look for him and found him when I was 24. The next years, we saw each other once in a while (when I had enought money to buy a ticket to F.), but I wanted more. So I made up my mind, to move to B., where he lives. My father was shocked and tried to discourage me.Telling me it would be safer for me and my kids in Europe and that we would be on our own. Since 6 month we are here now, I have a job, friends & my kids are doing fine in school. Also it's tough, I don't regret it. My only problem is my father, he hasn't done anything to help us, but keeps telling me, that he expects me:
1. to behave like a lady
2. to date only first class guys (lawyers or doctors)
3. to save 10.000 $ in the next 2 years to buy a home (I earn 1400 $ a month!!!)
What's wrong with him? How can I tell him what I feel AND expect from him?

My daughters 18 and works bringing home roughly £600 per month & i told her its £40 per month to pay towards housekeep, I told her once she started working then she has to pay her way & now I feel guilty taking Money off her, she goes out drinking ev sat into Leeds and is always well dressed, & she smokes. thing is though, i dont need the money off her, but my way of taking it is to push her into reality and realise that its no easy ride out there once you get your own house and you have the full responsibility of running her own place, Maybe im just a soft dad :(

My little brother lives in another city with his mother. He is 16 yrs old. He came to stay with me for the holidays. He said he met a girl (his age) on myspace and asked me if I would let him go to the movies with her. They have only spoken my IM and by phone. Should I let him go? Should I go with him?

Im 22 and am doing a part time MBA at University so cant afford to move out. Im planning on visiting my friend in London (100 miles away) next week for 2 days. I feel sooo guilty because of what my parents will think. Should I be feeling this way?

My mom sometimes when she goes off on a rampage hits me. It hurts a lot mentally and physically. Sometimes I run away for a couple of hours to cool off-but sometimes I retalliate. I am 150 football player, and wrestler. Sometimes I feel like I have no right to defend myself against her. But when I do retaliate after she slams me-she threatens to call the police. My dad lives in another town and he loves me very much and I see him all the time should I go live with him?
