I have an idea...the next time she wants to go to the movies with her friends, offer to drive them there. Tell them that you will be sitting a few rows back and that you promise not to disturb them. That way, you are monitoring them and yet you are giving her some freedom. Hope this helps. Good luck.

If 70% is considered mature for a 10 years old kid, surely my dad will allow me to hang out with my friends when I'm 7. I'm not trying to predict about the future but imagine this. 10 years old - start going to movies with friends, 12 years old - asking for this and that so that she'ill look like 15, 14 years old - getting a boyfriend....duh!...no matter how mature you think or they think they are, they still need to be protected until its time for them to fly. Explain to her nicely that you're not doing this to stop her from having fun and maybe give some suggestions that could guarantee her both safety and fun.

Your daughter maybe very mature for her age, but that doesn't mean she should start going out alone. In this day and age with all of the perverts preying on kids, I don't think 10 is a good age. She still needs adult supervision, and I would suggest the age of 13-14 to travel alone and with friends. Talk about taking her to the movies with her friends and letting her see the movie, while you sit in the lobby area or something. I'd rather still play it safe with a young girl that age than be sorry.
Good LuCk!

Hmmm.. Do you know her friends? Talk to the other parents directly and see what they think. I didn't start going to the movies alone (w/ friends) until I was 12-13. I think she may be too young.

No it's way to young..why don't you go with them???If they get in trouble or hurt you'll be in some trouble with the cops and the other kids parents!!!Asking this question makes you 0% mature....
