I'm sorry, but you should be glad you even have parents. What they wear may be distressful, but there will be a lot more important things in your life to worry about.

if you can afford it, buy some clothes for them. if you can't afford, the next time you are out with them, swing by the clothes store and point out clothes that you wish they would wear, saying, "Dad, that would look so good on you!" or "Mom, let's go try these on for fun." Teach them the style appropriate for them. When watching TV with them, and a commercial for the GAP comes on, say, "Mom, wouldn't you just look awesome in that?" or "Dad, my friend Becky's mom thinks her hubby looks so fine in those shirts. She got some for him and now they spend all their time in their bedroom, Becky says."
You know, play on their ignorance to teach them how to be cool... well, maybe not cool but cool enough to not embarrass you any more. they are your parents, after all. It is up to you keep them stylish and modern. Rub a little of your youth on them...
But please, not too much. There is nothing more embarrassing than the mom who dresses just like the teen daughter. Then people will start staring at you, for sure.

I guess your age to be between 11 and 15 or so, right? Here's some advice you might not want to hear, but try to get over yourself. At some point everyone thinks their parents are embarassing, but it ends eventually.
And by the way, no, everyone isn't staring at you!

Are they both the same? wow I am sorry for you.
But you know they are your parents after all so talk to them.
Tell them that they might change the way they dress but be careful to no hurt their feelings.
Do no talk with both of them at the same time.
Go with the one you feel more confident first.
Almost always is the mom, that is my case.

Write them a note before you go to school and tape it on the refrigerator door...they'll notice it here...and explain to them how you feel. They can ponder it all day until you see them again and then talk with them. If they don't approach you first, go to them and nonchanantly ask them if they saw the note on the 'fridge. Hopefully they'll get a clue. Good Luck!
