Uncle A wants to make a rather large party with fifty-sixty ppl (inlaws, friends, other relatives etc) for my grandfathers bday (70). Now, with only the children+grandchildren, its 20 people. The other 30-40 people are mostly people that aren't even friendly or know my grandfather and the other three children. Some of them my grandfather dislikes greatly. Even though thats what Uncle A wants to do and he doesn't want to change it. The four children (of my g-father) would split the cost, but he doesn't want to listen to any suggestions and wants to invite all these "strangers". The price would end up being $100 a head, which is rather pricy, and my family and my other uncle's family would have to make travel expenses to go to a party with people we don't know that we're paying for... So we're not going but Uncle A is angry I believe because we don't want anything to do with that. He was also a real jerk on the phone. Let me also include that during the week of the party, there's also

A little over a year ago, I gave my first son up for adoption. I got married to my high school sweetheart after being separated for two years. He and I just had a baby boy last month. I have an open adoption with my first son but my husband doesn't want me to stay in touch with him. Whenever I mention my first son, my husband says I have a new son to take care of and to not worry about my first one. What should I do?

Like a one or two sentence answer to a question or instruction. I have said to my son "Honey, please do not bite the nose off the styrofoam head." The one that makes me laugh the hardest gets 10 points!

My son will be turning 16 in October. I was going to put him in a 200 Ford Ranger 2 wheel drive regular cab. I haven't talked to my insurance agent yet but was just wondering what kind of premiums should I be looking at to add him to our policy on the Ranger? Any help would be appreciated.

Why do some guys think it is okay to let their mom treat their wife like crap? Even when the wife is pregnant? It is like mother like son for some men, not all. I do not understand how someone could do that to a person. And then completely choose his mom over his wife all together.

My mom and my twin have been bickering for a decade now, and I get it from both ends. That's annoying enough, but I'm in a period where I could really use emotional support, and when I ask them for it, they turn it into an excuse to blame the other for my confusion.

My twin advises me to quit my job (which I'm good at but don't like), move out of my apartment, and take out loans to go back to school. I express reservation about this (she's never had good history with $), and she accuses me of being "controlled by Mom" and "trying to please Mom."

Mom? She congratulates me for staying at the job, tells me that one job's just like another (don't bother changing), and wishes I opted for trade school rather than college. She then turns it into a chance to snipe at my sister's job-hopping and financial disasters.

Any advice other than just not speaking to either?

I didn't notice my cat (JAC) sleeping underneath my truck and today I backed over her and killed her instantly. I'm so sad and feel sick to my stomach. It's like I lost a member of my family. Can any of you relate?
I know that men aren't supposed to be sentimental but I cried like a baby as I layed my sweet kittie to rest!

You people that dislike cats.....PLEASE, no smart remaks. JAC was part of my life for over 16 years and there's nothing funny about any of this!

Thanks to all and any of you for allowing me to share my tragic day with you and letting me share my grief.

So this person has this eighteen year old son who just lays around all day eating up groceries, and messing up the house. His step dad gets really pissed off because his mother will jump up and make this kid sandwiches, wash and fold all his clothes, just basically wait on this bum hand and foot. Can't kick him out cause went out and got put on probation, the court ordered him to go back to school, and graduate or go to jail.I guess she has to take care of him until he gets his edu. If this kid messes up he will go to jail, and his mom has to pay one hundred and fifty bucks everyday that he is in jail. The step dad has just about had it with this kids slothfulness, disrespectfulness, dont give a damn attitude. The marriage is in jeaopardy, is there a place to put this guy to alleviate his mothers stress and save her marriage? The guy is eighteen, if he is not considered an adult then why does child support discontinue at the age of eighteen? 'why can't she just kick him out on his --

I was molested almost a year ago. I lost my sister because it happened. The guy who did it is my sister's boyfriend & she's still with him. I haven't talked to my sister since last year. Nobody did anything cuz I was drinking(I was under age) He didn't get arrested or anything. Now my sister is telling my parents dat I had sex with my bestfriend. My parents no longer believe me. I've tried therapy so I wouldn't think about it as much, dat didn't work. The longest I sleep is 5 ahours a night, I still have nightmares about it. Now I don't feel comfortable with guys.

We are worried about them because their health is getting worse and we live so far away but we're all they have. They just need some assistance on a daily basis but we don't want them to feel as if we're trying to take their independence away entirely.

I have been with my wife for 5-6 years.

My mother thinks that my in-laws are now HER family too.

She tries to go to my brother-in-laws soccer games and wants to be invited to dinner when I go to my in-laws house.

She has even asked if she could call my wife’s mother to talk about getting everyone together.

My mother is not married, has no boyfriend, and has minimal friends.

Her side of the family lives 2 hours away so she doesn’t see them that much.

We don’t have children yet, but as soon as we do should we expect our families to mingle all of the time?

My mother believes that this is how it will be, but when I was a kid she never had her or my father's family around each other.

I wish to keep my mother away from my in-laws since she has talked badly about them and has been rude to them in the past.

Is this normal behavior?

I have a brother & I'm convinced that my parents think more of him than they do of me. I'm not talking about loving him more because I know they love us both equally. We've both moved out but I still do a lot of things for my parents; drive them places, sort out their problems, make sure they're ok and don't need anything, give them money if it's needed, organise holidays, etc and he does absolutely SFA for them. He only rings when he wants something, visits them when he's hungry, insults and disrespects them while he is visiting, farts & then leaves usually with his girlfriend in tow!! Yet my folks rave about him (my mum especially) to anyone who'll listen. Am I wrong to feel completely unappreciated? Should I tell my parents that I'm not doing things for them any more or should I just shut up & put up? Every time I approach the subject with my bro he just starts an argument!
