Family - August 2006

You see fat, disgusting kids with parents taking them to fast food restaurants, or eating candy and riding in a stroller when they should be walking? The parents are in my generation (30's) and I am not getting why parents are giving their children such a bad start in life. The parents already have their children on the road to high cholesterol, hypertension, and heart attack. I think it's very selfish to not adequately nourish children and make sure they get exercise. I see 2yr olds that are fat and waddling with french fries in their hands! And I've had people tell me my daughter is too skinny! She eats fruits and juice and healthy food. As a parent, it is the parent's responsibility until they are old enough to buy their own food to feed them properly. I'm seeing it so much that it can't be a health problem causing the weight. It's dietary habits and lack of exercise!

.....is so unfair with her to boys! The oldest one is treated like an angle even when he does something wrong, they tell him it's okay, but whan the younger one does something wrong they put him in his room, and when the oldest one picks on the younger one and the younger one starts crying they put the youngest one in his room!!! Why does my aunt do this, and is there any way to tell her how unfair she is??

My dad had two statuettes. When I was small, I broke one. Dad gave me the other one to care for.

I have social phobias but my wife is very social. I want our children to be more like her, so I try to keep them from being "scared" that everyone they don't know is a bad person. I encourage them to say "Hi" to everyone but some parents think I am crazy.

Well my dad died a year ago and my mom was making a fool out of her self trying to get a boyfriend. It makes me so mad. She didnt have one[so I thought]. And one day she told me she is pregnent. With who she didnt tell me.I have asked and she said nothing. She finnaly told me she got drunk at a bar and had sex in the public bathroom with a guy she met for the first time. She really should have kept that to herself. But now all she does is talk about the baby and hang out with that man. She's gon crazy.[she never never drinks around me]. She has sex like with that man all the time. Like I will wake up and walk past her bedroom to go to the bathroom and I can here her having sex and I think its nasty I mean i am 13 and just thinking about my mom having sex. I hate my mom. I just dont no what to do should I be soportive should I tell her how I feel. Should I ask her to let me move in with grams wat.

I'm 13, my mom worries a lot about my breats health and don't want boys staring at them. I'm a C cup, so, she makes me wear bras that give much support and no see-through. But I think she goes overboard, I don't like those bras, they are rather confining and hot, especially in the summer. I complained and complained, but she says it's for my best and doesnt' back off. I don't want to rebel, I know she's sure it's for my best, she's a nice mom, but kinda strict on her bra rules. One of the bras are gotta wear is on the website below, the others are alike. http://www.anita.com/de/en/0,1,104,1478,39236__products-detail.htm They all have 4 rows of hooks in the back. Don't u agree it's not the kind of bra a 13 yo would enjoy? How can I make my mom chage up her mind without rebelling? (I don't rebel, but on this bra thing once I tried. Mom didn't get that mad at me but I got a punishment: for a week, after homework I had to copy by hand a text on the importance of bras . One hour to do it

my mom is always yelling at me. afterwards she says she is sorry for losing it at me and she doesnt mean what she said, etc, etc. in essence she apologizes and says she was wrong for yelling at me so much. then later, she will start again. when i remind her of what she just said, she denies it and says 'but your wrong too'. ok, i accept i am wrong sometimes, but this is getting ridiculous. she is never satisfied untill i begin to cry, and then she taunts me and says that i cant cry for every little thing. then when she cools down she tries to hug me and stuff and says it ok and shes sorry. the whole thing again. im not an easy forgiver and i tend to hold on to bitterness a long time afterwards. any ideas on how to handle my mom's shouting?

"If you can cope with the pain of being abused, should you have to tell anyone?" My son told me the other night. He's falling apart and I have no idea what to do.
